At least we hear it from the horses mouth: no scheme, plans, traces, or preaching of defense from D'Antoni according to Woodson. Woodson didn't throw him under the bus though, and was graceful and thanked Mike for the opportunity to coach and learn some of his offense.

He's obviously saying he thinks MDA is incompetent at teaching defense, and for some reason he felt the need to publicly announce that.

Defense wins championships is not a slap to D'Antoni. It is a canard repeated in football all the time. Were the coaches that recite that arrogant, or simply advocates of a certain style? Could it be that Woodson is simply standing up for his style of coaching?
