27 years of age. Born in raised in Queens, South Ozone Park. Pretty much grew up into a man here in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Married with a 2 year old daughter. First and only child. Something special I never seen. But yeah, have always had a love for these Knicks. Dating back to as early as I can remember. 1991-1992 to be exact. Once I had that first New York vision of N.Y basketball, as a kid, it was then a wrap. Grew up thinking I was Starks and Ewing on the playground. Built for the PG position, but yet thought I was a shooting guard like Starks. Played with the heart of Patrick Ewing. I was a very confused basketball player. Just something that was (and still is) a natural love.
When I hear teams mentioned such as the Bulls, Pacers and Heat; I then have flash backs and memories of the 90's. When I hear names such as Orlano (Penny and Shaq), Hawks (those boys could ball with Mookie and D.M) and even the Celtics (Bird); memories. I can truthfully say that I feel young at heart (when in regards to our Knicks franchise) for the first time since our Knicks of the 90's. Warrior team(s). The stress is gone as a fan, now it's time to relax and enjoy this era of New York basketball. Could be on the verge of heading into a 20 year era of postseason playoff basketball. Only time will tell what those memories will bring, but we're going for 3 consecutive trips here in 12-13. With our deepest team yet.
How did I find out about UltimateKnicks? Google. Out of nowhere, I'm no longer welcomed over at RGM. Due to the 'derailing of a thread(s)'. Gone for ever. I'll explain my situation as a poster, but just understand I'm not complaing, only explaining. I like to believe that in life, some things do happen for a reason. Such as this, an opportunity to speak basketball on a different forum, with the same types of true Knick fans. New Yorkers in the same room? Will always creat for strong sports talk. I can look back and see that my personality as a man and passion for these Knicks were appreciated, respected and shared amongst hundreds of us regular fans/posters over there. Will miss talking N.Y ball with lots of those guys.
Hopefully I'm not considered some type of 4-0 bandwagon fan over here, due to a join date. Funny how you never know how much you enjoyed talking Knicks ball, until you can no longer do so. Banned for derailing, as if I haven't always contributed/enjoyed talking abour different topics of discussion. No suspensions from our Knick mods due to the derailing of a thread? Not even a single warning during any of the 2,000 post's I had over there either? Funny how that works. Three or four newer mods joined the ship during the offseason, and that that was that, for me as a Knicks fan over there that is. Some of these people have the power to ban who they no longer like for whatever reason. Now banning long time Knick fans at heart. Now thinking about it? I'm thankful that I found this place. Doesn't seem to have that hatred from other opposing team fans, people being banned left and right, doesn't seem to have those handcuff's on as posters of your favorite team either. We're all New Yorkers. We can talk basketball and trash talk on the street ball courts without "attacking" one another.
Why am I telling you all, all of this unnecessary stuff? It's not to tell my life story, but for others to understand that I'm not just some type of former banned poster from a Knicks board, due to being some type of 'trouble maker. I don't like those types of people. Long winded post, but I don't believed that I deserved a warning, let alone a ban from the board I called home. Can't even tell which mod pulled the trigger either. Had a thread on the main bored, by a long time Knicks fan, calling me out during the thread titled "Props to NYK Mentality". Long time Knicks poster created that thread, last week for that matter. Had alot of good responces in regards to being a fan. Always tried to give my best insight. During out entire offseason, I supported Felton over Lin for dozens of reasons. Talked up our Knicks as the deepest team we've ever had in regards to overall talent and depth wise (that I've ever seen at least). Mods with join dates no longer than two years are now banning posters who've been there for years on end. It's pretty sad you know.
I loved and enjoyed posting on our Knicks board. During the entire offseason, I had nothing but solid offseason predictions over there. Of course was called out as a homer, despite the fact I've always studied the game of basketball, and loved what I not only seen on paper, roster wise, but also in my mind. My vision for this team. Predicted Melo for M.V.P. Currently leads the NBA in early season scoring. Leading our franchise. Predicted J.R Smith as a 6th man of the year contender. Playing light's out. Called for J.R Smith to the Knicks, created threads on the possibility of J.R becoming a Knick; during a time where J.R was in China. Half the board thought I was crazy for wanting instant offense off the bench in J.R (at the time). Mentioned Chandler as our defensive M.V.P during (hopefully) consecutive seasons. Dwight Howard who. Look at NY's defense vs the Lakers. Chandler and Woodson baby. Predicted the number on defense during the offseason. Kidd, Felton, Pablo, J.R, Shumpert, Brewer, Melo, Thomas, Rasheed, Chandler, Camby etc, etc. All of these players can defend their ass off when focused. Now, we're leading the league in scoring defense. Haven't allowed 90 points throughout 4 games. 4-0 for the first time since the 1993-1994 season. I can go on and on. Speaking of that 93-94 Knicks team, I also mentioned during an offseason thread I created, comparing the Knicks of 93-94 to our current Knicks team. Thread asking, which team would win. Mentioned the fact that our Knicks of 12-13 could be the deepest, most talented, strongest Knicks team since our old school Knick team of 1993-1994. Key word being 'since'. Funny how things work out, now we're 4-0 for the first time since 1993-1994. Still need three consecutive wins (7) in order to match 93's team. I'm believing it can happen until proven otherwise.
I'll get called out for TLDR, but for those who did? Just know that I'm only here to talk basketball moving forward.
