Knicks could have loaded up on the Melo era here, but still hedged by featuring a young up and coming backcourt of Lin/Shump. A great playmaker next to a defensive stopper who can score... both very young.

But there can only be one. Sad. I could care less about this team right now. Always a Knick fan, but I dont have to love this group. Not much lovable. Amare is just another good player gotten too late. More things change more they stay the same no?

Maybe maybe not but they have $30MIL in cap space and flexibility too add a proven sf and backup pg and they will be there

I'm happy for him too. Gotta say, seeing Harden's and Lin's first buckets on NBA.com is the first regular season footage I've seen and gotta say: made me a little sad.

Gee, I really hope OKC is going to be okay, now that Houston is well on it's way to getting a chip.

God, how I hate Melo and Dolan and the Knicks and actually making it to the playoffs.

I'd much rather be counting cap space and draft picks and endless potential and 30 point blowout losses.

I'm happy for Lin because he has another platform to prove he's an NBA caliber player. We gave him his first real opportunity and I say he did the most with it. Houston stepped up when we decided he wasn't worth another, now he's making the most of it there. He's a lesson for all of us to learn from. Make the most of the opportunity(ies) you have now and don't expect them to be given to you....

For sure we will see those, as we did in pre-season. But be sure, Melo will put up many more bad games. So, it will never really amount to much.

We really could have had something special with a Shump and Lin backcourt. I am rooting for this team, but like a lot of you guys, it just ain't magical anymore, it is business as usual. The greatest level of excitement many of us ever had as Knicks fans was that Lin run. I sort of feel slighted by Dolan by not bringing the kid back. Bringing Lin back was almost a given considering how he helped turn the team around. How the fans started to really love the team again. Now we get to deal with another injured player and a selfish, albeit great, player in Melo. Something is just missing. Hopefully some of the new cats can bring back that magic.

I will miss his highlights. First game and already he did some incredible things out there.
