Hypothetically speaking. Let's say Lin keeps putting up 1 for 8 or 2 for 10 shooting for the first 10 games with an average of 4 TO's and 4 or 5 APG after opening season. Do you think Coach McHale will have the heart to say "Lin, we're going to bench you because the other guards are out performing you."

Picture this scenario....just picture it. Let's just Lin went a whole month of terrible D-League-esque type basketball. Can you imagination what sort of in-fighting the Rockets are going to have to sit through?

Here is this guy who was awesome the previous years and suddenly he's just, well, absolutely horrible and on top of that, he's the 1st or 2nd highest paid players on the team. Can you imagine what that would do to the entire Rockets organization. The other Rockets are going to protest in disgust. Fans are going to protest in disgust. The Rockets management are going to pull off their own hair.

There is a lot riding on Lin's shoulders. He makes or break the team, obviously.

Another pre-seasoned fan....
Lin is leading all PGs in steals in pre-season...
But this means nothing.
Lakers are 0-7 so they suck. Correct?

Lin is making $5mil this year, If anything I'm pulling my hair over Amare & Melo making $20mil a piece. With Amare another knee injury away from being forced to retire.

Don't make too much out of preseason. Lin was amazing for 25 games not 5 preason games

Um, I guess we're forgetting Jalen Rose, Maurice Taylor, Eddy Curry (who some want back), Tim Thomas, and Penny Hardaway.

I actually envy them... our team will be on that course real soon, problem is we may owe that pick to another team the way we trade them away..

A big(huge) part of Lin's success at Harvard the D League and NYK was his athletic ability. He is not a great shooter and he was not a good pG in college(although he had the ability to be one with his athletic gifts and size) I mean I saw him in person at Gampel with aggressive end to end speed and ups that allowed him to penetrate against several NBA caliber type players as if he was the best prospect on the court. It was easy to realize right there that this was an NBA player. Now if he has *lost* this athletic ability and has diminished speed and lift due to his knee injury--he's not skilled enough to get away with it and it will show.

LOL this has gotta be a joke right? the highest paid bench player is Mr. Amare Stoudemire of the NY Knicks. $20 million a year for the next 3 seasons, he cannot guard anybody and he is far from the efficient offensive beast he was in his heyday. there is no reason he should be starting right now; the only reason is to massage his ego.

Would not be surprised if Lin goes down with injury at some point this season, and Scott Machado becomes the feel good story for the Rockets.

Rockets had Lowry AND Dragic, and got rid of both of them- Morey is an idiot. I wish we could have traded Lin for Lowry.

Scott Machado never came back from the type of devastating injury Shaun Livingston has worked his way back from.

A former first round pick, Livingston could press Jeremy for quality minutes if the Houston natives get restless.
