The commissioner David Stern admits it, Zenmaster, coach of championships Phil Jackson admits it, and only a few diehard Knicksfans like me admits it. You can't cure this type of cancer and Jimmy Dolan is incurable, even his dad Charles Dolan probably admits that now. I know I got flamed a lot by speaking out about the owner and how we will never win a championship while he's the owner. I want to see a Knicks championship before I die, but I believe it will never happen as long as he's the owner still. Therefore, all the small talk about anything else has become more and more of a moo point for me. It's like a family having a genius for a kid. Promising, but needs to be raised right, instead, father Jimmy Dolan slaps his 2 incher T-bagging his kid from day one, then as the kid grows older, switches school every year and fires the teachers. Then the kid becomes a retard and Jimmy Dolan starts to silverspoon feeding the retard with caviar. I just don't get it. Flame away, but I'm telling you, Jimmy Dolan is the cancer to our Knicks and what we SHOULD do is avoid buying Knicks items, avoid subscribing to msg network, and encourage other Knicks fans to do so as well UNTIL HE SELLS THE TEAM TO A NEW OWNER THAT WON'T BE A DOUCHE LIKE JIMMY DOLAN. That's about all can be said.
This is the first criticism of Dolan I've ever read on these boards- quite a controversial opinion you've got there- believeing he's the main reason we've stunk the past decade.
Anyway, you couldn't be more wrong- every other poster on these boards will agree with me when I say Dolan is one of, if not THE best owner in modern sports. This magnificent man puts honor and loyalty above EVERYTHING- in this cynical modern age, that's a great thing to see.
Where as most other teams would recoil in horror at the crap served up by such characters as Laden and IT, and fire them within weeks, our owner is cut from a different cloth. He sacrificed years of winning in order to stand by them despite how detrimental they were to the team, simply because he connected with them on a personal level- such values are making my eyes water in awe and love for the man. At the end of the day I care much more about who Dolan is friends with than I do about the Knicks winning (let's be honest here, would you really value us winning a championship if it came at the expense of Dolans best friends? I think not).
Another thing I love about Dolan is while he stands by people who clearly can't do their job regardless, at the same time, he won't take disloyal crap from others regardless of how valuable they are to the team. And to me that's how a team should be run- put friendship and loyalty with the owner first and to hell with talent and the fans (hey- they don't pay the bills, right!)- if we sucked for the next decade, it would still be worth it knowing that Dolan has shown guys like Walsh, Sprewell, Phil Jackson and Lin that you don't cross the big (short) guy!
Not only does he own a keen business mind, but he's also fun and entertaining with his top class blues band. To me Dolan represents everything that makes this country great- here's a guy, that if it was left to talent alone would probably be unemployed, but thanks to having a wealthy father, was able to overcome his lack of talent and was given the opportunity to run a multi billion dollar business safe from any form of accountability (which to me just hinders mavericks from trying new things).
To be honest you just sound like an ungrateful, bitter fan jealous of everything that Dolan has achieved with this team.
