This is exactly what they did.
Replaced GM who is not into Melo-type teams.
Replaced Coach who is not running Melo-type system.
Removed PG who is not willing to run Melo-ball.
Added a bunch of vets to complement Melo and make him focal point.
Now we are Melo-team 100%... May be 99% because of Stat can get into his way... so we should get read of Stat ASAP.
We will go as far as melo will take us...

Who's the GM that said he's not into Melo type Teams??? Did the 2000-04 Pacers never happen??? We don't run like 60 % of our stuff threw pick and roll in the preseason???

Melo Mda were at odds, but the rest of that is trumped up.

Melo needs help. We have no scorers outside of Smith.

No one else can consistently create their own offense.

If the Knicks were honest with they self, the would look at the problem from a different angle. Instead trying to Amare in the starting line up, they should looking to replace JR off the bench.

TC
Melo
Brewer
JR
Felton

Camby
Novack
Shumps
????????
PP/Kidd

Good for Melo. He is our offense.
All other people should create for him and be used to streach the defense so Melo will not be doubled.
He should get his 25-30 shots per game to have his 25+ points and other stats. He should look as a star.

Not sure what are you up too. Facts are facts.
We all see who is gone and who is around.
All the rest is political bullsht and Little Jimmy ass-kising.

JR will take shots from Melo. Not acceptable. He must come from the bench.
Kurt or Camby will be great to start with Chandler.
Stat can come from the bench to not take Melo space inside 15'.
So I agree with you on that.

I want Melo to take himself as far away from New York as possible. In particular, back to Denver. And take his clown suit with him too.

Most teams don't have a slew of guys who can create their own shot. Let's see if Felton or STAT regain their old form, because they did create their own shot, even if a year ago seems like milleniums to some people.

LOL melo needs help. you do realize he was instrumental in creating this entire situation... right?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

It is not a blame Melo thread.
It is accountability thread.
Melo is now solely responsible for the fortunes of the Knicks club.
This is a honor and a responsibility.
If he will put his talent and soul into it and make it for a great run (like Pat and other Knicks greats) he will be the King on NYC.
If he will fail the team will fail with him.
Yes - he will need help but is is up to him to play and act the way other players, coaches, and fans will be able to help him.

I do not disagree with this. He will go as they go. Get the fame and the blame, and that is fair since that is what star players need to live with. That is why they get paid.

Its not always fair but thats life. He is not playing with Lebron, Wade, Shaq, KG, Duncan ... but that is life. Life is not always fair.

if he is in fact not playing with players equal to or better than he is then it's his own fault for creating a situation that results from his equating himself with those players he considers himself equal to or better than.

he got paid the max-- more than his actual worth whether he or his fans realize this-- and he enabled the decimation of the team he wanted to come to-- the decimation also being more than his actual worth... whether he or his supporters realize this-- because of a level of greed and an ego that were bigger than his actual skill and talent level.

all the negative shyt up to now and going forward traces itself back to his decisions and those of his business partners, dolan being primary among them, and including his moronic posse and ignoramus wife.

injuries to fellow players are part of melo's karma.

"not always fair" is a copout.

I don't know why people try talking this dumb **** about our assets when we didn't have any. Melo wanted to be here and I'm glad we got him. He didn't whiff at LBJ, he didn't sign Amare to 5 years, he didn't draft gallo instead Bropez or Hill instead of Jennings.

Your legs just don't break because you don't drink Milk one morning. The Knicks have been robbed of big time talent for years, way before they tried to get LBJ.

I'm glad Melos here now and not in Brooklyn because we let him hit free agency and Utah called the Nets because of all the assets they have first.

A lot of fans are failing Melo even before he actually failed.
It is not fair but telling.
He dig himself a huge hole and will need to put a lot of work to get out of it.
I am not talking about money - he get a max he can get.
I am talking about legacy and greatness. Not sure if he cares about it.
Not sure too many do in todays NBA anyways.
Money, greed, fame (even for being silly), and ego are rulling the day.
My facination of the Knicks team before Melo trade was about a bunch of people who love the game.
Same was my feelings during Linsanity.
The current Melo-team will need to win me back somehow... will see..

Melo wanted the Max. He will go anywhere where the Max is provided.
Max and NY as a bonus was great. Good for Melo and his agent.
Good job.

melo wanted to be here? riiiight. melo wanted money MONEY MONEY. what part of his agenda do you not understand? "i honestly thought i was going to the nets." it was about money first and situation a distant second. he did not want to wait for free agency because he wanted as much money as possible!

we were building around amare which meant an upgrade at POINT GUARD. walsh had felton on a short and cheap contract.

melo is blameless in your eyes? duly noted
