A couple of notes about this game:

The Knicks have two advantages in this game: Not only are we playing them at home, the Nets also have a high pressure matchup tonight against the Pistons-- maybe K-Mart won't have as much hop with a sore ankle... and maybe Kidd won't have as much speed with his knee issues. 2nd game of a back to back, on the road for the Nets...

The Knicks are riding a 2 game winning streak. In spite of the poor play, we've managed to pull off the victories. You can say we're dodging bullets... or we're learning how to win the hard way.

Tim Thomas has been playing well. He has the size to be a pain in the arse with Jefferson, though I'd imagine he won't be able to keep up with him on the other end. We have a ton of good bigmen... and it looks like if we have Kurt/Mohammed/Baker at center, Collins won't be able to keep up. On paper, we have the depth and quality to give the Nets a lot of trouble...

The one thing that concerns me is that our transition D has been terrible...giving up tons of points and NJ's transition game is one of the best. We gotta get back on D if we want to have any chance at winning this game.

that can be improved easily. My biggest concern is the interior defense. Kidd can't guard Stephon. Steph will shake em all night long!

biggest game of the year!

Yep, this is the game I have been waiting for ever since we landed Marbury. He is gonna have a lot to prove tomorrow night because of all that crap about him not being able to win with the Nets while Kidd was able to, and I'm gonnna be there to see Marbury light Kidd up

Our inside defense is the Knicks weakness. No one is boxing out or stopping the ball except Sweetney....that's G-Town for you.

Our transition defense has been great all year.

Knicks just gotta come with it because New Jersey is not all that much better than the Knicks.

Biggest game of the year. It would prove the Knicks are legit.

Yea we match up very well with this team, plus this might be the team we play in the first round of the playoffs, so winning this game would be big for us.

I'm dieing to see the Kidd/Marbury matchup.
Is Martin playing tomorrow? Last I saw, he was sidelined with his ankle.

A win here could be a huge confidence builder.

Hopefully Detroit pounds Nets bad enough for Knicks cake-walk win. Otherwise from here on, and as a good measurement, knicks will be legit by winning every game.

Rebounding, transition D and playing smart. Those are the keys and the Knicks can win this game. There seems to be a mental hurdle vs. the Nets in recent seasons. We've got a different team now, and we should be able to get past that. Big barometer game for us. Remember, the first round playoff matchup as of now would be vs. the Nets. Statement game.

The Nets seem to own us the last few years. Basically because they play good D, are athletic and run very very well. Given we don't play good D, especially transition, are not athletic enough (read KT and Houston), and seem to fizzle against good D with our offense, us being owned by the nets is not suprising.

Hopefully we are prove to be athletic enough with the addition of TT, Narz and Marbury to the starting lineup in place of Deke/OH, Van Horn/Spree and Ward/Eisly.

D is just effort, including transition D. Iseah's "talk" should have them playing hard, cause if that wount, they are hopeless.

Also, at this point you'd hope they start executing on offense, its about time for the team to gell.

So all in all we have the tools to win, but the big QUESTION is do we have the heart.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

NOT athletic enuff is an understatement the fact that u mention only two players. i think the Knicks could keep up with the Nets now that were more athletic with the new additions that Isiah has brought to the team n over all players.

The D has helped us win two in a row but it wasnt pretty. The Mil. come back and then in OT to beat the Wiz who put up 114 against Sac.Which showed Heart instead of givin in on both games. We have a chance n i cant wait (((LETS GO KNICKS))).

I think we have rebounding down. Transition D needs a huge amt of work... playing smart has been erratic. It might take a bit of time to gain a defensive persona--- we don't have any dominant defensive leaders out there right now. We have a bunch of players that like to grab "and 1"...

The Nets loss to the Pistons yesterday will be both good and bad for us.
Pro - The 2nd of back to back games is always a lil tougher for obvious reasons.
Con - They got beat by the team they are battling for the #2 spot.
They'll have a lil more fire I think coming of that loss.

I am really looking forward to seeing the "Kid -Vs- Marbury" matchup.
I think TT will have a breakout game.
We just need to get one of their starters in foul trouble early and we'll have the edge.
The Nets do not have nearly the same depth we have.
I'm thinking Knicks take this game 105-99 (crossing fingers).

Damn... If these guys don't play there is absolutely no reason why we should'nt win this game.

Yes, but that might not be that much of a blow to our chances of winning when you think about it(even if Kidd and Martin play)
