![]() That release is almost exactly the same as Jason Kidd! If he can get his shot off then so can this kid. It's about playing inside out. If STAT is in the post, you need shooters around him and that's really going to create open looks. We'll be adding an inside game to force defenses to collapse fully. The style is a bit different than the SSOL approach to creating open 3's, but it's still effective. It's more like the way the Spurs do it with Duncan. The key is going inside 1st and forcing teams to choose. Do they wanna die quick with 3's or by a thousand cuts by high % post ups.
Overall it suggests that the Knicks are aware they don't have a lot of perimeter shooting. This would also give Woody so much flexibility. MDA loved to have the stretch 4 and for good reason. You want to create space for Melo or STAT, then you must have shooters to surround them. Think about late end of qtr or end game situations where you can go with an offensive unit to get that big shot and then switch to a defensive unit to close out the game. Just a lot of options and matchup possibilities. |

![]() I've some games of his. His game is that three ball, and he rarely shoots college threes, his are legit nba range.
Don't if he'll make the cut, but I hope he gets at least stashed in Erie. |

![]() If it works out cool, another stretch 4. If not, it's partially-guaranteed so no harm.

![]() It will be interesting to see him get that three off with a long, quality defender on him almost every night. Not college zones trying to react.

His shot isn't slow like Gallo's jumper is, and the kid shot the ball from NBA range, hardly near the college line. My question to you is.....who big man is gonna come all the way out to the 3pt line to challenge the shot? Keep in mind he isn't Novak, he can fake and get his shot off in contact, plus he will drive. |

I like the angle he takes to the rim but I get the feeling that the faster defenders he would face in the NBA wouldn't give it to him often. |

My question to you is, how big of an NBA-quality big man do you need to block or bother a shot that someone shoots from directly in front of their face? My other question to you is, how does Northwestern's foes stack up defensively night in and night out against even scrubs in the NBA? Watch the film. He's shooting open threes against zones. That probably works well in Robbie Benson movies, but not in the NBA... |

![]() He shoots way beyond the arc, no bigs will go out that far, plus the kid can put the ball on the floor, and has a quick release.
He also has a fake to dupe his defender. Who cares who his comp was, he's not gonna get burn against the NBA elite. He'll play against the opponents bench. |
