A lot of delusional fans still think that even Dolan is an idiot and douch somehow the organization he is leading can succeed.
How stupid one should be to even imagine this to happen after so many years of failure and embarrassment.
Unbelievable...

Armageddon is the next step, then zombies, might as well run now!
does anyone doubt Isiah has been within the organization/influencing Dolan the whole time, even during Walsh's tenure?

Isiah starphucked with the absolute worse players and with horrible negotiating skills while playing a premium + for each player.
I wouldn't say his "system" could not work, he just chose the wrong players to lead, and were 1 dimensional.

Not drafting Bynum and giving trading Curry *especially for the 2 picks that ended up to be Aldridge and Noah*
That one move alone could have changed the course of the franchise, while he did draft David Lee as the biggest steal along with steals in, Wilson Chandler, and Trevor Ariza *would have NEVER developed in NY with the chaos* Bynum *instead of Channing Frye* with David Lee/ Aldridge and Noah would have really changed the make up of The Knicks*

I actually like how Nate Robinson has developed and never thought he would mature in to a young Earl Boykins type player with self control.
I think he is a quality 6th man that can even start and produce if given an opportunity. He IS NOT the same player that he was here in New York, after continually being doubted for the years and not getting consistent minutes after his "break out" final season in New York.

Since then, he has improved his ability to facilitate/penetrate and finish/ floater, mid range shot, 3point range, shooting off the dribble, ability to get fouled, playing OFF the ball, setting up his team mates, shooting off the ball, and even defense.
He will get this opportunity now with the Chicago Bulls, he is a great player for the vet minimum, along with MANY other players *just to name a few, CJ Watson, Lucas III, Ronnie Brewer,* that I think deserve much more since the new CBA, meanwhile some get vastly overpaid. The players that continue to take veteran minimum contracts have messed up the leverage of many players that are not "STARS"
Nate will always be doubted for his size but I hope he does well and earns a much better contract.

Dolan is picking his warriors to fight off Brooklyn and The Russian/Jay Z/Deron and so.....

STUPIDITY + STUPIDITY + CONTROL/POWER = Dolan/Isiah = mismanagement and big gambles

Unbelieveable. Its too bad the nba didn't get involved in the Anucha case and suspend Thomas for life. Someone needs to protect the Knick organization from him and Dolan.

I think the fact that he was going to be hired as a consultant even after his horrific tenure in NY that included a sexual harrassment lawsuit until it was blocked by the NBA is reason enough to worry about this meeting.

Kill Dolan. I've had enough. Assassinate him.

Given how unprofessional the organization is -- it's a nepotistic stew of cronyism -- there is no way to measure Isiah's actual influence by the official positions he holds or doesn't hold. (If Dolan wants to show gratitude to someone for 'consulting' services, there are off-the-book ways to pass along benefits.) I tend to think of the meeting between Dolan and Isiah not as the prelude to a business deal, but as an actual snapshot of how business is done at the franchise on a regular basis. Isaiah and the whisperers at Dolan's birthday parties, 4th of July parties, homo id parties and hotel lobbies, they all get to talk in his ear and bypass the professional decision-making structure of the organization.

That would be true if Dolan didn't hire Isiah's friends, aka Grunwald and Woodson. First he had to get rid of Isiah's biggest destractors - Walsh and O'Neil.

Isiah has always been here, whether he has an official title or not.

So who's leaving the team, like the thread title says?

No use whining and not do anything about it.

I agree. I wish there was something in place like baseball had with Marge Schott and Steinbrenner. Obviously a sexual harrassment suit is different but it seems like it is serious enough to allow the league office to suspend Isiah and maybe put some restrictions in place for Dolan. When Amare gets fined for calling a guy a fag it seems like sexual harrassment should have some consequence with the league.

Hopefully he will be made new MSG president, with a big say in player moves.

Like most fans, I look back on the IT years as the golden age of the Knicks, in which we got to enjoy fantastic trade after fantastic trade. IT was the first GM in modern sports to prove that you didn't have to have any sort of plan or strategy in order to have great success with personnel moves. His unconventional lineups kept opposing teams on their toes, and his players inability to play defense meant that they did not have to expel valuable energy even trying.

By ignoring issues such as basketball IQ, work ethic and character, IT insured a dramatic fenzy of personality clashes and exciting locker room storylines that kept an entire city and fan base enthralled.

IT brought sexual harassment back to a world that was at risk of sliding into equal opportunities and anti discriminatory practice. By giving away top draft picks, while taking on giant salaries of over the hill, fat, cancerous players, he successfully built a team ready to compete for a championship, each and every year. While beloved by many, it was his relationship with Dolan that really made his time with the Knicks special. Every time they entered a room together, sparks flew and magic happened. The melding of two unparallelled basketball minds gave birth an era defined by it's genius.

Really missed IT, and this team has floundered since the day he left- can't wait to have him back.

This berman article has no merit, gimme a break, everytime IT gets within spitting range of Dolan, berman rights a article claiming IT is being considered for some position..

You know if berman has a hate(curry Isiah) or a liking( steph, MDA) of anybody, he's going to write a trumped up story to sway it one way or the other, its never the FACTS

steinbrenner being banned worked wonders for the yankees.. 5 rings later and a few hall of fame talent(jeter, mo,etc) the yankee organization was spared from decades of incompetence..

I agreee crush, we need to be saved from both dolan and isiah.... one will lead to the other of course.

I think Beramn artical is pretty neutral. Just stating the facts.
There are 10th of articles about the matter which are more harash that his.
The fact that the meeting was made public news by Doaln is a statement about him being the only one to have a say about wnat Knicks organization will do.
No more liberal smoke screens with Walsh, D'antony and such... Time to get back to business as usual.
