Jim's start was rocky, no doubt about it. His decision making up through the end of Isiah Thomas Tenure was terrible. However, since that time he has made good decisions and he is really hitting his stride as a leader:

1. Hiring professionals with proven track records for management positions.
2. Refusing to over-pay players.

This is the exact opposite of how he started out. He hired unproven people like Isiah Thomas, and overpaid a long list of players. Now he is going with pro's like Glen Grunwald, and refusing to over-pay players. Ironically, his refusal to overpay has earned him even more hate from the same fans who used to hate him for overpaying. This year I expect this improved decision making to pay huge dividends in a winning season that sees the next go deep into the playoffs.

Nah, James Dolan is still the epitomy of a moron.

I think he slowly losing the interets to bbal. And this is great!!!
When Jimmy will care about Knicks as much as he does about Rangers lately we will have some hope.
I hope he will buy some women socker team or get into wrestling or boxing.
Or will play guitar all day long. As soon as nobody have to listen..

Do not put Morans close to Jimmy. They are better than that.

You have lost touch with reality, friend. He's the biggest douche of all time.

There's no way this guy is real. Your either working for or have some sort of relationship with Dolan or you're a troll. There's no way any sane Knicks fan could like Dolan as much as you; your name is even a reference to his awful blues "band".

Interesting debating techniques some of you have: If someone disagrees with you, he must be a troll. So your concept is simply to discredit anyone who disagrees with your group-think regarding Jim Dolan. And yet no one can dispute the basic facts I presented.

The James Dolan presented by hack sportswriters and echoed on this board is a totally one-dimensional character. The arguments against him are rote and unthinking. The reality is more complex. He's a flawed man who made egregious errors, but has learned from them. That's good for us.

What facts? We're not overpaying players? Take a look at Amare's and Tyson's contracts and tell me they're not overpaid. Not to mention what we gave up to bring in Ray Felton, a player no team wanted, and look at his 4-year/$18M contract. And it's nice that he's brought in actual basketball people, like Grunwald and Warkenstein, but are they actually in charge? From the outside and based on the reports I've read it looks like the major personnel decisions over the last several years have been handled by Dolan. The embarrassing wooing of Lebron, the Melo trade, and the decision to let Lin walk were all mismanaged and all appeared to be made by Dolan. Also, how much sway does Isiah still have in the organisation? Dolan tried to rehire him last offseason and it seems reasonable that, even though he has no official capacity, he probably still talks with Dolan and makes suggestions.

EDIT: And I'll ask you again, what does your name refer to? Is it Dolan's joke of a blues band? Why would you pick that?

Dolan has gotten better over the years but some people just do not have the guts to acknowledge it. He's now given us a team that can compete for a championship this upcoming season. If they can stay healthy the sky's the limit. Dolan has given Glen the go ahead to put together a defensive team that will be hard to beat but will never ever get the credit. Can't wait!

Lin certainly is not going to be a over paid player..that's for sure..

IT may not had a great track record, but he certainly prove to be an above avg scout for young talent.
Dolan is a guy trying to make his mark in this league..He's running a franchise in one of the biggest market in the world. I don't like most of his moves, but I can never knock him for not trying to improve the team, he just struggles to make the right decisions, always looking for marketable players as oppose to the right players..

He treats the franchise so much like a business and really has no idea how to build a team, rather then always trying to just trade for good players..Lin will proved to be his worst mistake ever..

There is no doubt that big media organization like MSG MUST have their people infiltrated in relevant internet boards.
This is just given. But if some of them are here on UK, they are really overpayed agents for what a stuppid posting they do.
But if man is as bad as Dolan he is bad in anything he does.

straightshot's first post (presumably) from a while back: "Hi - I am a new poster. I have lurked for a while and decided I should join and mix it up with you guys. I am looking forward to the season and like the team that Grunwald has put together."

Hmmmm. I vaguely remember seeing that topic and thinking "Yup, someone from a PR firm hired by MSG." when he didn't answer the question if his username was from Dolan's band.

...MSG MUST have their people infiltrated in relevant internet boards...
Yup, given the PR disaster from not signing Jeremy Lin, I'd guess that various PR firms hired by MSG are spending are than a little time "getting a handle" on the fans boards, etc.

This thread is so pathetic that only a drunk intern with a great sense of humor would write something as sophomoric.

Thus, its funny!

"Our Little man is growing up"? You think MSG could sanction such a thing?
