We lost much youth in the Camby trade with... the f@#$%$# Rockets! Lets not lose our probable young star point guard.

Kidd is practically washed up and Pablo is a 35 year old rookie from Argentina who's never played in the NBA before. What do you care how much money Dolan spends anyway? In the 3rd year of Lin's contract we'll already be paying Melo, Amare, and Tyson a combined $61M; I don't think we should be preoccupied with conserving cap space.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Lintastic.............wait, I did it wrong.

I don't think Lin is a Major cog in the Knicks future.

Anybody who responds to this assuming the possibility should go back to math class in GED... Lin will make hundreds of millions for whichever team picks him up... why? cuz Asians won't care if he becomes superstar or not.. they will pay to watch, pay to buy jerseys and other gimmicks, and even buy regular season tickets.... that's it... all about money. So please stop posting this now, now that we know everything else is settled in Knicks signings.

Thing is, we were already going to be over the cap, so initially it only hurts in terms of Tax payments. Now, after some posters here have brought up the fact this also affects future deals, it MIGHT make the Knicks really consider the offer. This supposedly would leave us without a few of our exceptions or make them shorter, less lucrative ones as well as negate us the option of getting players in sign and trades.

Simply put, the poison pill is for the franchise and not exactly to keep Lin from us. Suddenly I hate the Rockets as I hate the Heat.

What if the Knicks don't match Lin?

Knicks would still be a NBA team and Lin would play for another team. Both would move on.

Lin haters would rejoice. Lin fans have to live with it. The world will still be revolving around its axis....

They might do alright, but they are ancient and would have to replaced almost immediately. And Lin might be better than both now and certainly will be better long term. There's no decision here...you keep Lin no matter what.

Idiotic?

I wonder why you would flat out use the word idiotic as a response to a hypothetical question.

Oh...you did it just to get a rep.

I think it is a fair question. I like Lin and want him back and I am almost positive the Knicks resign him. However I am looking T it as a fan. To take on the tax burden to have Lin back from a business standpoint is a different matter.

Not matching Lin would suck Donkey balls but I think one thing your post brings to light is with Lin we are deep at point and Lin's role this year should be easier than last- They did very well w Lin under Woodson- I love the serious 2nd option and protection from a Linjury
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Not matching Lin won't kill us. Signing Lin to a bad deal will.
