He looks like a good outside shooter and the vid showed some post-up moves as well.

I'm interested to see what this kid can do for us. The Knicks have been doing some scouting overseas. Let's hope that their picks are on point.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

he seems like he plays a little like a mini-Melo on the wing/post.

Looks mostly like a 3 pt shooter but also has post moves. Maybe nice if he ever sees PT.

Love that Grunny's thinking out of the box with the PP and CC signings.

I guess it's a good idea to load up on some trade assets.

That was a really high res clip, looked like HD on my ipod. From that clip Copeland doesn't need a lot of daylight to get a shot off. Quick release. The only negative I see is that he doesn't elevate that much on his shot attempts, might have trouble getting his shot off against quality defenders.

Copeland looks like he plays with a chip on his shoulder which will fit right in with the kind of team Grunwald is building.

not sure if his game will actually translate in the NBA game.

Looks like a Novak with a Al Harrington/Melo shooting/scoring mentality.

I guess if you spread the floor with with 4 shooters, he would open up the lane.

He looks very frail, doesn't look very mobile, athletic, quick/fast, or strong.

Can he defend a position, rebound, and take contract would be my biggest concerns.
He is quite open and the defender looks mismatch.
His defender is much slower and less mobile as he is unable to defend him.
Defender wasn't very physical, long/athletic, and was basically a mismatch.

Doesn't seem to have a very good handle and the ability to blow by his man, it would be a lot tougher in the NBA.
Peja could have dropped 60+ on that defender, not the young one, the one that just won the ring with Dallas.

He looks like will be more of spot up shooter, role player, like Novak, and have a lot of adjustments to make in the NBA.
It won't be that easy for him to get off his shot in the NBA.
He was pushes off like Melo/Lebron when he tries to post up, not sure will he get away with it here.
The intensity level of the game looked more 3point shooting contest than a game.

Really hard to tell, if he can find quality minutes, until we can see him vs better competition.
Justin Hamilton looked like he was a lot more NBA ready from the video.

Chris Copeland G 6-8 224 Mar. 17, 1984 Colorado/USA Okapi Aalstar/Belgium R

Interesting that we had our first Summer League practice today and now Chris Copeland is signed. I think a non-guaranteed contract but haven't heard the details. He must have impressed Woodson. From the highlights his jump shot is a bit awkward. But they all go in. 100%.
Anyone have his stats from European League play?

He’s 27 or 28, depending on when his birthday is, 6’8″ 225 lb forward. Played for a Belgium team. Averaged 33 minutes/game, 22.8 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.8 apg. Hit 57% of 2pt shots, 44% on 3′s. Not much of a scouting report, but amazing what a quick google search can do. Frank’s video is interesting.

Goes in line with our "now is the time" philosophy. He is an older player with overseas experience. Much shorter learning curve, and you don't have to wait for him to mature physically, either.

Interesting jump shot- does not get up too high, but the fall away motion gets him clear. A bit like Dirk's shot, in that aspect.

Hope he works out. Maybe an instant offense kind of player- who gets more time if his shot is falling- if not, you sit him.

Definitely someone to watch in SL, since it would seem that we are already committed to him to some degree.

Yeah, very poor shot selection, but rewarded by hitting therefore he will repeat.

The team was running Melo's favorite play too, "give it to me, then get out of the way"

He has Melo's favorite move jab, jab, shoot.

He needs to learn that smile as he back peddles.

How about comparing him to a guy like Lee Nailon? Pure scorer, extremely dangerous when hot...

He was bigger than all the guys on the floor so it's hard to say what would happen with a hand in his face but with that slight fade I hope he'll be ok. Looks like he need to work on going left, is a bit of an iso guy, and has to work on finishing around the rim. But looks like a nice, cheap pick up and a good practice player at the very least.
