Knicks have emerged as favorites to sign Raymond Felton, the Daily News has learned.

Happy about this move. Felton was a fighter for this team, heady player. Is he in Nash's class? No. But he'll be a solid player and he wants to be here, unlike Kidd, who I thought was just using the team again.

I hope we're not giving fat Felton more than the vet min.

You always make it so easy to disappoint yourself. Yes, of course he got more than the vet min.

better move than giving up all the pieces we might have had to give up to get Nash.

It is nice to have Felton back. This will help in making an exciting team who can potentially compete with other teams. But I feel we won't truly compete for a title until Dolan is not the owner of the Knicks.

Awesome...Loved Felton and his hard nose play..He brings defense and I hope he remembers a few nuances from the pick and roll..Some say MDA isn't here so he might not be able to run it on his own, I beg to differ..Defense, ok rebounding numbers, better than a steal a game, what's not to like..

I doubt that. I bet it's the $3M mini MLE

why would they work a trade? i mean, i guess they still could which would help them keep their MLE for someone else. that'd be nice.

I am not worried about Felton's weight. Woody will talk to him.

felton played like crap for the blazers last year but did come on towards the end of the year after he lost all the weight he gained. calling him fat-felton is beyond stupid.

If its the three we should offer Ray the full MLE, resign JR, lets see if Lewis will play a year for the vet min..

You can't use the $3M MLE and the full MLE. We don't know what the Knicks actually offered yet, so this may all be moot, but I think Felton is probably in the $3M range.

edit: then again, I'm seeing reports it might be a sign and trade with Felton. that would be good, we'd still have the $3M Mle for Camby or Rashard or Foye or something.

Great move. Felton had a bad year so the Knicks are getting him at a bargain price. Felton is only 28. If this works out it is another great move by grunwald

Really like Felton. He might have been the guy I missed the most from the Melo deal. If he can resurrect the bulldog, drive-to-the-hole mentality, that would do wonders for our shooters.

Eh very unimaginative. One good thing is he has a good relationship with Amare on the court and will help tyson too. And is a good option if Lin were to miss extended time due to injury. He reminds me of chris childs a guy who used to run the floor but got fat but loved being a knick. And both hit big shots and point to the new york across their chests. Nice to have another guy who wants to be here.

Plus its a move were the media cant laugh at the knicks because they know who felton is whereas they have no idea who lowry, calderon, watson, lucas are. So a win for Dolan too

If he signs with us and we keep Lin, I'll be very happy, but as I have said a number of times, his weight issues are going to become an issue if he doesn't take his offseason conditioning more serious. He cannot keep using training camp/preseason/beginning of season to get himself in shape.

we're so quick to forget that the whole 1st half of the season last year we didn't have a capable point guard. So I'm really happy that we've been targeting PGs so far. And Felton is Woody's kind of point guard, while Nash isn't. Hopefully it'll work out.

As of right now, who's the better player between Lin and Felton? It's close in my opinion. In a year or two it shouldn't be up for debate, but right now I would give each a 50/50 chance of becoming the starting PG.

So you're saying we're expecting to lose Lin and therefore it's a good idea to get Felton instead of an aged PG to backup Lin and tutor him? That's the ONLY good reason I see we get Felton

With Dantoni and in shape. Not sure he can ball under Woodson but as Lin's backup and insurance its a good move. I know you wanted Felton all along so I give you credit. If he is in shape and plays well he is a better option than Kidd because he would slide right into the starting role whereas Kidd could only do it for a few games. And Felton gets his number 2 jersey back cos Landry is gone!
