The Knicks are drowning fast!!! Pressure from the Nets, Raptors and them trying to compete with MIA are causing our team to collapse!!

As I've said before I dont want to lose shump but lets face it next year he may not even play or play effectively. We are not the Thunder we dont have a young core that has 7-8 years to figure it out. I mean we have a few years to get a title and even though i dont wnat to lose a great defender but its like shum score 18 ppg if he did that and played great defense then that would be a different story

If Shumpert was healthy I wouldnt do this deal but the Knicks are in win now mode and Shumpert isnt helping them in 2012-13.Im real torn on this because I think Shumpert has All Star upside however that injury could derail any hopes of him becoming that player.Trading a player like Shump is going to look bad when the Knicks are rebuilding with nothing in 3 years. I understand it but I really dont like it.

No it's causing Dolan and/ or Grunwald to collapse.
Every year Dolan somehow manages to throw away the few positives coming out of the last season for yet another " star ".

DUCK FOLAN - pardon my french

I honestly was hoping for a Tyson and Amare to Orl for Dwight instead of this 2 year rental. But hey, if it goes through, the show must go on. Talk about thinking ur doing something then falling flat on ur face.. :/

This is true. If Shump never got hurt i would say no deal but he suffered the worst injury a guy with his athleticism can suffer.

this could just be smoke so Houston does not offer Lin that type of poison pill.
I don't believe Houston has interest in acquiring Lin when they have Lowry as a steal in contract.
They just want to make Dolan pay for keeping Lin, they would not give the max poison pill, if they are scared that Knicks might not match.
Maybe a 3 year deal, similar to Osik's and Fields, at 5,5.2, and 10-15m.

@ESPNSteinLine: Knicks PREFER to chase Nash w/out Shumpert. Sources say they're trying to find third team to join proposal to avoid it

Imagine the Knicks lose:
Fields - 24
Shumpert - 22
Lin - 23
Harrelson - 23
Jordan - 25
Douglas - 26

And get back:
Nash - 38

This team would get real old real quick.
If Smith was to move too - youngest player would be Anthony at 28. Wow.

If only youth alone won championships...

But I doubt we lose all the youth as you suggest here. Lin should be untouchable. Fields is gone already and wont be missed if we get a backup SG with range. Douglas probably stays unless a team takes pity on him. The rest are prospects that should be easy to move fpr a guy like Nash after keeping Lin.

And James White (29), and Pablo Prigioni (35) - the only other serious possible Knicks pickups. Maybe we found the fountain of youth somewhere.
