Could Amare's latest blunder send him packing? What are the Knicks thinking about Amare?

Amare still has value, just not $20 Mil value. Do you think the latest PR nightmare has alienated him enough that the Knicks are trying to move him, even at a major loss?

If we had a definite second option at the 4 it would make more sense. But I was thinking about the courting of Lin. The cast? Melo, Chandler, and Woody. What about STAT? Is this the new big 3? Are they wining and dining him to induct him into the club? Melo, Chandler and Lin are working out in Cali. Again, where is STAT? If he is a major component shouldn't he be involved?

I bet there are still 5 or 6 coaches who see Amare as a viable option to improve their team.

So, what is the likelihood that he is not a Knick next season?

He will 100% be a Knick for the entire 2012-2013 season.
Knicks are listening to incoming inquiries.
Knicks are actively calling around to gauge interest.
A deal is already in place. Au Revoir Amare.

Who would be actively inquiring about Amare? His contract is not insured and he is overpaid. Let's just hope last season was an aberration and he can get back to his old self.

he's not packing and he's not overpaid. When he's back to 25/8 a night scoring at 55% next year people will be eating their words. This reminds me of those dumb "we are better without Ewing" threads way back in the day

Amare needs to stop twittering shut down the account. Get back to basketball and family those are the only things that matters. He is going to be a Knick for entire contract can't see anyone wanting him a player with damage history and mental weakness too boot.

Does it?
Amare is not a franchise player like Ewing.
Ewing would never have compromised himself by gashing his hand.
Ewing wouldn't have responded to a fan like that.
Ewing was a leader, with class and dignity.

I don't see how comparing questioning Ewing and Amare is even possible in your mind.

And to be clear, I have no words to eat regarding Amare. I've never said he wasn't talented, and never said he wasn't valued. But his regression hurts the club. And so do his immature mistakes.

When he gets "back" to playing defense I will eat one of my pinky toes.

That implies that he gives max effort on D and just sux.

He gives zero effort on D its disgusting

Ideas of who could use the front court help next season based on moves the teams may make:
Boston
Orlando
Houston
LA Lakers (Amare and Pau? Just a thought. Not saying Pau to NY, but maybe with a 3rd team involved))
Brooklyn
Toronto

I disagree. It's not zero effort at all. He just makes lots of mental mistakes that make it look like low effort. Poor reads, losing sight of the ball, losing sight of his man, not noticing a rotation, ish like that.

Is this a "Nightmare" and enough to consider dumping him?

We talking about a team that gave a sextual harrasser an extension.

The gay community has more to worry about that Amare using the term "faggot" in a negative way.

It was a poor choice of words but not one that will really hurt his brand.

still a clown question, Bro.

C'mon man its been posted here numerous times - all those youtube clips of him not stepping up on the pick, being a lazy ass prick ... you can see when he is just being a dumbass (which is common) or when he is being a lazy ass (which is very common)

not comparing Ewing and Amare, only the foolishness of those posts.

Ewing was so classy he banged one of the Knicks city dancers
Ewing was so classy he flipped off fans and they threw his poster (give away night) on the garden floor.

Please... give me a break. Ive punched things before in anger. When I was Amare's age it might have been something that could hurt.

PS: I love and have always loved the Ewing led teams. He like Amare is human. Hard for fans to grasp, but they are not video game programs. Then people talk about the loss of his brother like its something he should get over quickly and get back to work.

Amare is one of the most stand up guys this city has seen. Someone trashed the year he had and he called the guy a fag on a personal twitter message? WOW. Oh my.

Knicks may shop around but i think it is fair to give this whole thing more one year to see if it can work. Clearly Melo, Lin, and Chandler are the core of this team, with Stoudemire being up in the air. After this season, regardless of production, Amare becomes much more tradeable with only 2 years left on his deal. The whole untradeable for 3 years is just a myth.

Amare is not part of the olympic training squad. No reason for him to be out in LA. Melo, Tyson & Lin are part of the olympics

Eh Ewing never averaged 17 & 6 and played horrible defense in his life. Not in college or the pros. Ewing worked on expanding his offensive game. Can Amare at least work on his D and rebounding? I doubt it after a decade in the league

Much better response, minus the part where you go Amare and call people names. Dude, stand-up.

Good points. I watched a lot of those Ewing games, but I was a kid, so maybe I missed the subtleties. But no one is missing these subtleties.
I think anyone who punches inanimate objects in anger never passed some stage of adolescence. But ok, maybe I'm blowing that out of proportion.
