Watching OKC play, their lack of a TRUE PG to help play facilitate and set up their team lowers their chances against a ring this year.
Westbrook should never be shooting more shot attempts than Durant and even Harden.
His shot selection, decision making, and inability to create for others are the difference.
Give SA much credit, with their game plan, execution, and defense.
OKC's streetball style, with players that do not move well off the ball, use set plays, and utilize all players as options is completely the opposite of SA's style of play.
While the talent level, athleticism, length, speed, quickness, and talent goes to OKC, they are unable to execute vs the Spurs.
They exert much more energy, than the Spurs to get a lower % shot. While they may have the edge with the starting lineup, the bench, goes to the Spurs.
I look for them to get a true PG, such as Kidd, Nash, Dragic, in FA or breaking up their team if they do not make this this WCF a series in at least 6 games.
They have 1st round picks and very much talent to use as trade bait to be in discussions with any team.
To me, Kidd makes the most sense if they do not wish to break their team apart, using another year to decide with their big athletic 4 in,
Durant
Westbrook
Harden
Ibaka
but Harden and Ibaka, will be looking for a big pay day in 2 years latest, probably get an offer from another team next year, forcing OKC to decide.
Kidd, no longer has the ability to penetrate, but he is still a great passer, and looks to push the ball at all opportunities.
While he is a step slower, he is still a decent defender when defending SGs with his strength, allowing Westbrook to play SG on offense, and causing havoc on defense vs the PGs.
Kidd, doesn't need to penetrate to the rim with Durant, Harden, and Westbrook, all able to penetrate and will have less decision making to do.
He has improved his 3point shot, which can be used to still keep the defense honest, and spread the floor.
Capable of still throwing alley hoops, to the talented athletic core of OKC, most importantly, improving team oriented play.
While a trade of Westbrook for Williams would work for both teams...
I would not be surprised if they look to add Dwight Howard and acquire a PG, with all the assets they have.
The Spurs are constantly moving on offense, with great all round players, and depth, using everyone as an option.
With everyone touching the ball and getting everyone involved, it opens up the game for everyone.
OKC is 10x more physically talented than the Knicks could possibly be, yet their style shows a weakness.
It may work during majority of the season, but it does not work vs, the elites, and the post season.
How many times have we seen the Knicks, lack ball movement, moving off the ball with the Melo style of offense?
Only during Linsanity, did this style ever change, and is the formula to play in the post season.
We had a much less talented squad, with much more chemistry, and we should continue to build on that, and not thru Melo or Kobe's style of play.
