That Pre-Melo was going nowhere.

Gallo and Chandler were great value when they were on rookie deals. Now their combined salary is close to what Melo makes. Not so much value anymore.

I'd be willing to bet it wouldn't be nearly as close to unanimous as the same poll would be on a Denver forum! And that's even with the OP generously confounding the Lin and Chandler acquisitions with the Melo trade.

One night makes a season?

Mozgov sat on the bench most of the season. Mozgov 5 pts 4 rbs. Guy is a BEAST.

Gallinari is the SAME player he was in NY. No progession from the guy.

Come on man.

Which Bynum, Engaged or non engaged? For all the hype he gets the guy rarely shows up. I do not think he will ever be able to carry a team n his own.

Hoping for Gallinari and/or Chandler to reach their potential wasnt winning the Knicks any games. Both of those guys were very inconsistent.

Denver paid Gallinari assuming he would have a breakout season. That didnt happen. No they get to pay him 10 million a year for the next 4 years. Hope he steps it up.

How did Lin and Tyson get into option 1?

Perhaps because no matter how much Melo-trade fans want to confound the three transactions, there was no requirement to do the Melo trade in order to get Lin and Chandler. There is nothing wrong with asking which of the two above teams you'd wish to have since either actually was a possibility.

No way we get Lin with Felton here - you know that. He was an inch away from getting cut with the great TD at the helm - c'mon - be honest.

Amare - 20 mil
Gallo - 10
Chandler 8
Felton 7
Tyson 14.5
Moz 3.5

How would Tyson fit in the cap?

We had the amnesty. Gallo is making $4 mil this year. The OP asked which would you prefer, not how likely would Dolan have been to achieve scenario 1. My guess is if he hadn't traded all our assets for Melo, he would have for Deron or made some other bad decision. There is no reason to confound what we'd like to do with what Dolan would have done.

How about next years salary for Gallo? I don't think that works.

Who was being amnestied?

Silly and Misleading poll

Next year's salary would not matter if we were signing Tyson last year. I don't think Wilson was on the books yet for this year anyway. We wouldn't have needed to amnesty anyone - we could have saved the amnesty for Amare actually. I shouldn't have listed the amnesty in my previous message.

LOL - I voted option 1 too Because it included Lin and Chandler

Once again, I always stated that Dolan outbid himself and overpaid.

As far as actually judging the outcome of the trade, I have stated that I would not make that determination until 3 years post trade (I learned my lesson with the Eli Manning trade) It is way too early to judge.

Denver was a great team with Melo, they won 50 games a year and was at the top of the league in scoring. They were better those years with him then they are now however, we have to see how they build with their new pieces.

Denver playing the best Laker teams and SA in the first rounds was no comparison to this year. Anyone who has watched the lakers knows this clearly. And no MWP really killed them along with OLD Gasol who is being shut down by FARIED, no heart BYNUM and much older Kobe. I think not having PJax might hurt a bit too.

Lets see how Denver (and the Knicks) look in 2 years. I think that is fair.

Why are we having revisionist history?

Melo was going to go to NJ and collect his extension. There wasn't an option to wait until summer to sign Melo.

Anthony acknowledged for the first time he was ready to sign off on a Nets’ deal if the Nuggets decided they liked New Jersey’s trade offer better. Anthony is visiting the Nets in Newark for the first time since the Feb. 22 trade.

“When I was going through the whole situation, there was a time I really thought I’d end up in Jersey,’’ Anthony said. “I thought it was going to happen, but it didn’t. Now I’m here. No regrets. ‘’
