I think the only guy in the league that would make sense for both teams for Amare is Pau Gasol

I've said this before---I think a swap of these players could actually improve both teams the way they are both constructed--and the contracts are basically the same. I'm not looking to trade anyone per se--but this is something I would explore. Its obvious watching the Lakers that Gasol Bynum is running its course and our jam up with Amare Chandler and Melo isnt that pretty either. Im not giving up talent for less--and this trade is the only trade where the salaries both in $ and length match where each team may just improve from the talent coming back.

Can we make it a colossal three team trade and include Houston? So they can get Pau and the Knicks can get Smith, Parsons, Scola, and etc. If the lAkers lose they will be clearing Cap space so they will not take Amar'e anyway.

Proposed on another Board: Would you trade Tyson Chandler for Gortat and a S&T with Nash?

Like most fans, I've been royally annoyed at the glaring deficiencies in Amare's game. So here's the optimistic take. This and next year will be the transition year for him. His body will no longer do what it did in Phoenix. He grows up. Learns to develop a back to the basket game (with a jump hook or spin fadeaway). Turns his jumper into a reliable go-to shot. And learns to box out and play defense with his feet, anticipation and hustle rather than pure physical ability. Maybe not that impossible.... anyway gives us hope even if we're not able to move him.

Lakers are not giving us Pau for Amare. Pau (its sad to admit) right now is so much better than Amare it would be rape. The best we can hope is to get an Reggie Evans and filler. The piss poor season, bad back and uninsured knees.......I was definitely on the wrong side of the fence when guys wanted to amnesty Amare.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

his jumper was money in Phoenix as well as year1 in New York. Think was damn near automatic! The Back killed his jump shot. If you look, he can't extend properly on the follow through anymore.

I've mentioned this trade before too but see no reason why LA would do it. Been watching the nuggets series and Pau looks over the hill. Woody is publicly challenging amare to develop a post game. Let's sink with this ship!
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Like I said, the most we'll likely get is a Reggie Evans and filler.. I doubt we even get Jordan Hill.

If he has any pride and wants to win thats exactly what he will do in the offseason. And I think LJ was brought here fire that reason.

At a minimum, we'd be including Shumpert. It can't hurt to explore the trade but I doubt LA would do it.

True. But that's why we keep Amare right? Basic law of trading: Buy Low Sell High. We already bought Amare High..might as well keep him rather than selling at the lows right?

The purchasing price is a sunk cost. He played OK in the playoffs and may be at the highest value he ever will be. With all the wear and tear on his body, it's hard for me to imagine him getting better with age.

Pau is probably a top 20ish player right now. Amare? It's better left unsaid lol

If the Knicks could do that it would be amazing. I would be happy with Buddinger swapped in for Parsons also.

The only thing with him is that injury. I think Shump was on his way to becoming a top SG in the East

Hopefully his value, talent, and contract make him untradeable.
