he is young athlete , good teamate and can improve in the future , can be a great piece on a championship team.
right now he is terrible playing with zero confidence
I think he just needs to work realy hard on shooting and he needs to sue whoever worked with him on his shooting form this offseson because he cost him a lot of money!!

I think we should resign for minimum/near minimum contract

Minimum salary player for sure.

I can see him not in the NBA is 2 years.

If we don't retain him I think some team throws him the mid level or somewhere around there. I think he can still improve a lot.

No one is giving him the MLE.

Guy played good for half a season last year.

He is a nice role player, but he has regressed.

I understand having Melo is going to count down on his touches - but his shooting percentage is off and his rebounding is off. And there are plenty of rebounds to grab.

All these knicks fans running around like they've lost their head. Typical, right? What did you expect? Knicks are in shambles. No way we're going to win Heat with half our team missing.

Dudes overrate everyone the Knicks draft. Truth be told Fields is the same guy he was last year.

Only difference is the offense has slowed down and we run more half court sets. Therefore a player with Fields limited skillset isn't going to look to hot.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Melo is the Knicks best shooter, passer, rebounder, and low post scorer. He is the most versatile guy on the team. Regardless of who he played with he has made it to the playoffs.

The Knicks with Chandler are a jump shooting team without jump shooters.

I roll with the versatile guy everytime not the guys who cant do anything without a above average PG running the show.

i like landry when he's playing the 3 or as a bench piece. he is not a 2 guard and he's been burnt trying to play 2 guard in the playoffs.

he's like shandon anderson - good for a little money, but the minute you give him an MLE type deal, he's just dead weight on the cap.

i'd sign landry for a few million.

unless dude learns how to shoot, I say dump him. As bad as his shooting is, his passing is even worse. Unless he manages to get inside for a dunk he is useless.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Fields doesnt look good in Melo ball. His strength is cutting and moving the ball, not standing around and watching. We need better defenders.

you can't blame Melo for Fields being such a bad shooter. You CAN'T have a 2guard or small forward on the floor that can't shoot a lick. The guy is overvalued and needs to go!!!

its not blame, its just fit. Fields has an NBA skill set. We saw it here enough. Half court Iso's take away what he does well.

You keep Fields because he has potential and because it Doesn't affect the salary cap.
