With the way Melo's been playing, they may be able to steal one in Miami. Tyson defending the middle, Smith/Bibby (more Smith) handling the ball in a controlled tempo, Stat giving the offense he's capable..gentlemen, I believe they can do this. Just gotta believe

After having Game 1 stolen from them last year, I want to see them come out strong right from the start. Be prepared for 5 on 8.

I guarantee the heat didnt want to face us in the first round. sure they doint mind during the regular season when were are injured but i think we have a better chance other than the bulls of beating the heat

If they could win game 1 it would be huge and would send a message to the Heat.

my intuition is telling me game 2 is ours.

the heat might let their guard down a little after beating us in game 1. we haven't lost back to back games in a very long time.

just call it a hunch.

i promise i won't gloat if right.

Im glad we play miami now. Maybe we catch them napping as opposed to playing them in the later rounds when they have their playoff mojo

I'm not really sure how I feel about playing the heat first and I think that says a lot. I guess I am apprehensive because they went to the finals last year and have a lot to prove. Sure they have weaknesses but I would say they are the favorites from the east.

Granted I wouldn't feel too great about Chicago in rd. 1 either - but I suppose if you are going to eventually play the heat you might as well get them early before they have a chance to get momentum.

If we somehow beat them it would be incredible.

Call me crazy but I prefer to play the Heat. I think we match up better on the starter side and we have the advanatage with Mobb Deep.

Even though we played the Bulls tough they killed us on the boards.

If the Knicks go in with the attitude that they are the better team over the last 24 games they will win the series. By the way they are 18-6 and heat are 15-9.

What worry me about the Knicks is that they can score a lot of points and be up by 20 and forget how they got ahead and the heat can catch them in 3 minutes or less. No lead is large enough that the Heat can't catch them.If we loose I want to feel that we fought the good fight. No one is giving us a chance in hell. I'm not worried about Lebron, Bosh, or Wade. I'm worried about that one player who will have a record game against us. It happens almost every game.

THIS. Mike Dunleavy. Gerald Green. Brandon Jennings. only a couple of players that catches fire from 3 every time they face us...

We need to win in miami, then defend the home court.
Here is an article explaining how we can do it:

Hint Hint: need to not let the refs decide the series:

How did the schedules compare?

Wasn't Wade out for a lot of that too?

Not to mention, Lebron is playing on another level right now.

The Knicks will play hard, that we can be sure of.

Not Really

This series will be played out in seven unforgettable acts. Each one different from the last. The Tyson Chandler flu subplot lends a cusrious plot twist to the drama that will build to a fever pitch by the time Wednesday rolls around.

Winning one in Miami would be huge, but not essential.

Will Steve Novak catch fire?

True, but hopefully the Knicks will finally realize that this is now the PLAYOFFS, and we can't afford snoozing on ANY leads and runs. The margin of error is hair-thin in the postseason.

For the most part, the NYK had been playing better to close out the season. Now, they MUST be at their BEST.

As for the Knicks having to win one of the first two games in Miami, that's a given for any team who doesn't have home court advantage to tilt homecourt in their favor.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Knicks coming out victorious will depend on:

1. Chemistry- we had better get it together NOW. They will look to stop Carmelo and get him frustrated. I don't see us pulling this series without chemistry and cohesion on the court. It can't only be the Carmelo Anthony show.

2. Limiting Turnovers- obviously Miami will destroy us on the break if we fail to take care of the basketball.

3. Intensity- we have to maintain and further amplify the intensity that lead to our 18-6 record over the previous 24 games. Defense!!!!

4. Half Court- it would be in our best interest to keep the game to a slow tempo and and not allow Miami to play to their strength.

5. Amare- I hope he can bring it. If not, we have no chance. With all the attention on Lebron and Wade, Bosh will get his 18-20 off mid range shots and lefty layups.

6. Wade- he is better than our whole team put together, just like Paul Pierce. Meaning; in the 4th quarter he will take over the game and will his team to victory by burying his jump shots, putting spin moves on us, getting to the basket, backboard banks shots. Make Wade pass the ball. We are screwed if we allow him to take over in the 4th quarter. Keep Shumpert on him like a "cheap suit" and consider double teaming him.

Last year, I predicted we would get swept by Boston. I think we will get swept or win one close game at best against Miami. I really hope I am wrong. As mentioned in another post, we have to win one of the first two games. The feeling of beating Miami and advancing would be similar to the 90's.

I'm pretty sure EVERY team that face Miami will need to meet/exceed those requirements (chemistry, low turnovers, intensity, slow tempo, production from "stars").

In regards to Wade, Melo can take over a game just as well as anyone. We can't expect Shumpert to stop Wade, but he can certainly make it a lot tougher for him. Who does Miami have for Melo?

If Tyson can keep Miami out of the paint, we'll be in much better shape. Make Miami EARN their points. They've got three studs -- shutting them down isn't realistic. But we're BY FAR the better overall team. I'm already on record saying Novak's 3pt % will dictate the series -- if he's hot, we're in every game. If he's not, LET'S GO RANGERS. (The same could be said for JR, but he's gonna chuck it up no matter what).

Should be fun. Would LOVE to have Lin, but it is what it is. I've never gotten into the whole MDA/Woodson debate, but I feel MUCH better going into this series trusting defense than SSOL . . .
