A close friend of mines 13 y/o son was playing softball about a month and a half ago. The batter swung the (aluminum) bat and it flew out of his hands and flew about 30-40 feet way into foul territory and hit him in the back of the head. He was not looking and unfortunately was not wearing a helmet. He has been in a brain dead coma since with not much hope of recovery.

When I saw the elbow I cringed knowing how dangerous that can be. Maybe I am more sensitive to it because of my friends son but nevertheless, I don't think 2 games is anywhere near what he deserves. HE HAS A CONCUSSION AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN FAR WORSE!! THE NBA NEEDS TO PROTECT THEIR PLAYERS!!!!

Hitting in the back of the head is also ILLEGAL in the UFC. There is a reason for that.

No place for it in the NBA. Should be rest of regular and at least 1 or 2 playoff games at the minimum with hefty fines depending on severity to Harden's injury.

I agree with this thread. This was completely stupid and irresponsible. Coming from a guy with previous cases of violence, the league should make a point here. A ban for the rest of the season, also considering Harden couldn't return and could be really affected by the hit, should definitely be considered.

Yeah, my girlfriend and I were watching Sports Center and I mentioned it to her that his name is "Metta World Peace". She asked how he could have such a name and do something like that. I have no good answer. Sad. Hope he gets a long suspension, at a minimum.

Artest has a rep for being crazy and dirty, Kidd doesn't.

Watching the tape he looks to do it without Malice. He hits the soft part of Hardents temple (awful) he does not feel the impact of what he did. These guys are always bumping and bruising.

He has been a model citizen the last few years and I don't think he gets more than two games.

If he was in his nutty ways I would have to agree he should be done for the year.

This guy is not wired right we all know. If the elbow happens in a fit of rage I'd be more prone to throw the book at him.

This is just plain weird. He does not even wince when he clocked him. He does not look at him. Its like he was just not there. Weird.
