I know some people hate teams for certain reasons. Francesa hates the jets because of rex ryan and the fact that the players talk on ESPN radio which is his competition but Barkey never has a good word to say about them. Despite the fact that the Knicks are playing as well as anybody the last month of the season

The unofficial start to the NBA season came sometime Wednesday afternoon when Charles Oakley said he belted his longtime nemesis Charles Barkley in the face during the players union meeting.

"I heard what he was saying about me in Atlantic City and I didn't like it," Oakley said last night. "I'm fed up with him.

"I told him you need to change your name. I'm the only Charles."

The two Charleses have a long-running feud dating back to Barkley's days with the Sixers. They once squared off during a playoff game in Philadelphia, and also exchanged blows two years ago during an exhibition game in Houston. Barkley often pokes fun at Oakley's lack of finesse, compelling the former Knicks forward to respond with fisticuffs.

During a charity game last month in Atlantic City, Barkley was asked about the Knicks trading Oakley for Marcus Camby. "That's an upgrade," Barkley said.

Then Barkley approached Patrick Ewing and said: "(Oakley) was a hard worker, right? That tells you all you need to know about his game when all people can say is that he works hard."

Oakley claims Barkley plays the punk when he tries to be friendly off the court.

"He did that the other day," Oakley said. "He thought everything was cool, but I'm not his friend. Then everybody grabbed us."

Oakley allegedly slapped Barkley across the face and the two were quickly separated by the Knicks' Chris Mills and Indiana's Antonio Davis.

Just last month, Barkley said he'd be interested in joining the Knicks.

Just take an example from my beloved Giants. They never got any respect.

It just made them play better with a chip on their shoulders. Expectations are a very dangerous thing to have to worry about.

Maybe Woodson has, but the knicks have proved nothing to earn respect. You cannot earn respect without some sort of postseason success.

Sorry I didnt make myself clear. in reference to being only 4 games over .500 has nothing to do with where the team is today

we are definitely playing better than a +4 team but bandwagon analysts like Barkley will not jump on until we make him.

He has always said that he hated the way the Knicks treated Patrick Ewing.

He is kind of right.

The bulls game was freaky as they missed 4 foul shots.

The game against the heat did not really show much more. Heat were not playing well and we did not beat them on our floor.

We a good team, getting better and I doubt we get swept.

Its not what I hope for, but the reality is pretty much what Charles says.

They asked him what they he thought.

Barkeley says he didn't like the NYK treated Patrick. He says they should have let him retire a Knick.

Problem was Patrick wanted to start and keep playing. His post knick career was sad.

Barkley is right, but Patrick thought otherwise.

I agree that he felt that way and was probably really pissed at the knicks.

Patrick always thought of himself more than he was. He always felt that he was as good as MJ and Hakeem but did not have their support. He did not have their support but he was no Hakeem or MJ. He also thinks he would make a good Head Coach but I don't think he would and most GM's probably feel the same way. Classy guy, TOP 50 but IMHO a little disillusioned. He is ranked exactly where he deserves to be.

These guys are all MVP's and have championships. I assume 5 positions and each one gets 10 to make a top 50.
Ewing is HOF and a great player, but not top 50. No season MVP and not bling.
