In this league now the players are different and you have to treat each player different. Lin got his break and the players was doing very well and Lin caught teams off guard. It whould have been a matter of time before he got shut down without Melo ball. From the begining D'Antonio insisted on the team playing fast ball and he knew that was not Anthony's game. When Linsanity caught on everyone was out to destroy Melo. Instead of D'Antoni playing to Anthony's strenth he dogged Lin into the ground. This was Melo's team from the begining and D'Antoni tried to sell Melo a bag of goods that was not him. D'antoni thought it was all about him. He could care less about defense. He had guys shooting 3s that couldn't hit the side of a barn or house 5 feet away. It was this that did him in. Was it so hard for him to bend and let Melo do his thing and hold him accountable on defense?? Now he is gone and looking for another place to play fast ball that will never get him a championship.

Yes it was, because Melo tuned him out and when a player shuts down, there's only so much a coach can do. Woodson is able to tap into whatever it is that's making this knick team play hard now(it's about time).
but let's face it, this team dogged it in the final days of D'Antoni.
