I agree. That first win was huge. The Bulls are a tough team especially at home. The Knicks missed Lin a lot tonight.
We will continue to miss him if we can't get any kind of floor leadership from Baron, TD or Shump. Also Woody had no answers out there. The offense has been devolving and grinding down into sludge slowly over time. This is not a playoff level offense right now and it's more than a lack of PG play.
If you are referencing the 18-24 offense that looked good for 7 games then I disagree. The Knicks d will keep them in games against any team if they continue to play the way they have the last 15 games. I do think it is concerning that Douglas regressed so much tonight. He didn't make it back into the game until it was over. From what I have seen of Woodson, he is pretty commited to a subsitution pattern and Toney not getting back in could be a bad sign for Toney. Also, Jeffries hasn't blown as many shots as did tonight in a long time.
It's silly to bring up the 18-24 record as if the problem was that the offense wasn't good enough to win. You can play good D, but you also have to play SMART BB. that's really all the Bulls did. They set picks and forced switches and moved the ball and had player movement leading to open shots and that's all i'm talking about. We didn't do enough of that. We didn't put enough pressure on their defense to create good looks. Yes we missed some open shots, but we also had long stretches of BAD BB. This has been coming for a while. They must fix these problems.
In case you guys haven't noticed this team is still fighting for the 8th seed. Hopefully they get their heads straight for tomorrow night. The Bucks don't defend like the Bulls but they can score. Gotta get that win.
Nixlula, how efficient was the knicks offense prior to Lin?
Prior to Lin we still had the bad Melo who couldn't shoot straight and was getting his shot blocked. The Bulls weren't doing anything special on D that more ball and player movement wouldn't have helped to solve. Our offense was simple, easy to defend and dumb. Dumb as in the players weren't playing smart team oriented BB. The Bulls don't really have a great PG minus Rose either, but they played SOLID TEAM BALL. They played smart. That's how they ended up with 27 assists!!!
You guys are acting like what i'm saying is some foreign concept. It's just basic smart BB and nothing special. If you have threats you run plays to get them open looks. Even if you don't have a great PG. You just watched a team do that to us and yet you guys wanna disregard it. Stop trying to make this about SSOL or MDA. It's about this team now finding ways to win against the very teams we'll have to face in the playoffs. Woody has to come up with some kinds of answers for the problems the teams faces cuz all we've got is Baron, TD, Shump etc.
How did the Bulls get shots for Korver and Hamilton?
