For now, spell the cream “Mohammed.” “I’ve made the decision this morning,” Wilkens said. “Nazr is going to start for us in the middle the rest of the way.”

“I’m happy,” Mohammed smiled. “I mean, I’ve been ready TO start in this league for a long time now. But starting is meaningless unless you do the things that help the team win, the things coach talked to me about. Which are rebounding and playing defense.”

“I’m not comfortable yet,” added Mohammed who made his Knicks debut on Feb. 20. “I’m GETTING comfortable, though. Each day, I feel a little better with the guys and where they like to get the ball and how they like to play. But, no question, it’s a process.”

at least the creaky dead wood mutombo could play defense and rebound. We weren't getting outrebounded when he started. I really hope Hazr could play D and rebound, if not we're in big trouble.

Good. I like Mohammed. Mutombo was only getting about 24 minutes a game anyway. He could still get that, he should also bring a nice spark off the bench.

Exactly - why start Deke anyway when Nazir should be getting all the experience and confidence he can as a Knick starter. Deke wont be in the league much longer and its time to transition him out. He is no longer starter caliber but will be a fantastic backup. Hopefully Nazir is up to the task because we need a real center.

No question Nazr can rebound....he does need work on his D and his rotations to help his teamates.

yeah,we cant sign both Dampier n Wallce.this is why the trade was done.we gained in gettin a sf n c in return.instead having 2 position filled ova the summer we only have 1 remaining which is being focused on Wallace.Unless u guys really think Deke,Thomas,Doleac would be our future starting centers, lol.that way we could have stayed with KVH ((BOOSHEET)),my bad i had to sneeze there.

^^^ They say that NM was the x factor of the trade so to say. Do you think that theres not a center out there ready to reach potential or either put up double doubles a game easily by that i mean 10pts 10rbs... NM played decently i can say but he cant play defense and from a center with the knicks i think you need speed and defense out of anything especially when you head out west. Starbury,Houston,TT, should take care of the scoring and bench play a role. This team needs a defensive powerhouse or they need to play well in all overall team defense if its possible. To say what i said NM being a dime in a doze i mean hes not gonna be a superstar maybe decent center at best and explained at best in technomaster post about centers.

Im seeing Magloire,Foyle,Swift being good pickups in the free agency for the season. NM needs time but im still not gonna past the fact that he will develop to what IT wants to make it seem. I dont have the class of free agents for the end the season but there aer people at the C position that fit better then NM.

Find a list of F.A. for the upcoming season i can bet you can pick up at the PF & C people that will def. upgrade the team. Thinkin that NM is gonna be giving you the reason to let go KVH your #2 scorer and then even can add in his ability that he was playin you question the move. Thinkin that NM will reach potential is naive as saying that TT will the guy is a joke and is what he is.

I'll get to the Techno post - good post BTW - but I am not sure you answer my question to satisfaction.

First, no one expected Nazr to be a Ben Wallace off the bat. Have you seen Nazr over a long period of time? ALT fan? How about talk about the stretch of time where Nazr started in place of Theo and averaged a double-double.

Tell me this. If Nazr is a dime a dozen, who are the other dimes and why aren't they on the Knicks team? Who are these centers that are available that are ready to explode on the scene? And how can the Knicks get him?

Also, why can't Nazr turn out to the a 10/10 guy who plays solid D? And by the way, that ain;t a dime a dozen.

That's a list, but it's a $7M per list at least. Nothing the Knicks could get or trade for easily.
