28pts 12rebs, beat the team chasing them in the playoffs missing three key rotation players, including two starters.

Melosanity?

Or, no, he just did what he's supposed to, right?

I think Woodson also called a lot of plays for Melo. But, can he hit a lay up please!

Seriously. Anyway, it should be noted that Melo does wear a rib guard under his jersey.

How am I being called for a Ban when everyone was pretty much talking about how he was fat and overweight to pull off any kind of spin moves and lay ups in the Bucks game thread. Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth.

I think you should wait more than 1 game before posting such a thread.

You need to learn how to read. I was talking about a discussion from the game thread. And enough with the rib-cage guard or whatever he's wearing under there. He looks out of shape tonight.

you said "don't talk out of both sides of your mouth"... i wasn't talking out of any side of my mouth in the game thread, as i wasn't in the game thread.

anyway, so i suppose you've answered my question and can't really find a fault with anything melo did on the floor.

He gave a heroic performance like he did in the playoffs last year. I hated the trade but it is done. I do get frustrated that he is the fall guy for a coach that never was successful while he was here. The list of excuses for D'Antoni's failures is huge. If he wasn't Walsh's guy he would have been long gone after his second year in my opinion. Walsh was very loyal to Mike and had was committed to proving that he was the right hire and would be successful in NY. Once Walsh left it was just a matter of time. You can't lose at the rate he did with the talent he had the past two years. That rate of losing was typical for his tenure but the talent level was higher. I don't know how I feel about Melo. He really bothered me during the lockout when he was tweeting about his sneaker ads and it appeared the season might be cancelled. I hated the trade for him. However. D'Ant resigned on his own and he should have been fired long before that..

How are you even going to start an argument over "Melo is fat". Deal with it.

Is this about one game? Oh I thought it was about a winning season! This will likely never be over for Melo. Unless he leads this team to a title he'll always have the weight of the world on his shoulders. That's what it means to be the "MAN". It's his team as the best talent on the team.

I was very proud of his game tonight! He toughed it out. He wasn't great, but he was determined. He didn't let his team down. He gave EVERYTHING he had! I thought he was done when he pulled up lame, but he fought thru that too. Make no mistake he wasn't playing at an Elite level in terms of pure execution, but he was game and fought and scratched all night.

Still, i'd say this falls somewhere between a big night and doing what he's supposed to do. If this was a tougher team then I would give him even more credit, but the Bucks are putrid defensive team. Melo won't always have it that easy. In fact our next game will be a much different test.

Did what he's supposed to do. He's supposed to be a superstar, right? Why are we acting like he's Landry Fields? This is what we traded half our team for. If he's not producing then he will get the criticism he deserves.

Great! We needed a new poster to tell us this? Thanks for the original contribution.

Right. I guess I need to talking about 'minute bowl'. That's a more original contribution.

The OP made a statement that I'm responding to. End of story.

Agreed. The idea that we're supposed to applaud him and sing his praises because he played well is laughable. It's not hating to hold your superstar up to superstar standards. It's called getting your money's worth.

Every era has the best player and then the fan favorites. Ewing would have a 28 and 12 game and people would talk about how tough Oak was down low or how Starks shooting streak showed heart. But when they'd lose, it was always Ewing's fault. Ball stopper. Too slow etc. They even boo'd the guy. That was how it was. Ewing was the star so he got no love after a win and got all the blame during the loss. Nothing new. It's actually funny when you think about it. Not comparing Melo with Ewing but rather looking into how it has always been with Knicks "star" players. Ewing's era was the epitome of that.
