I am loving this new look that the Knicks are showing off to the rest of the league so far. I was always against Dantoni from last season, I knew we couldn't win with the system he wanted to implement on a team that wouldn't be at their best in. Now, Woodson may have not changed much, but you're blind if you don't see that they're now running more set plays and are just gelling wonderfully on the defensive end now. I fully expect great things from this team now. Here's to being over .500 this Saturday!

Some go for the pituitary gland. Or so I hear tell.

Since it was clear that a change was needed, I'm ok with it. I don't like how it went down, though.

The thing is, it's becoming (or has been, to the astute) crystal clear that it was one player who incited a 'mutiny by laziness'. Even Charles Barkley stated that the team quit (and it pains me to quote him, since he equally overstated D'Antoni teams' defensive woes).

So, the lazy player got his wish. Whether Dolan dropped the ax, or MDA slit his own wrists is irrelevant. The players and certain sections of the fanbase and media are now feasting on the blood.

Melo - has never looked happier and he's licking his chops. ("Mmmm... yummy!)

Amar'e - now bouncing all over the court. ("Melo, bring a couple of spoonfuls to the locker room for me, on the low")

Chandler is indifferent - ("Y'all are messed up, but I'll taste a lil' bit if that's what you guys need")

Lin - (cried in the corner for a while, but Jeffries cheered him up, then rubbed some in Lin's hair while wiping his tears)

Shump - Slipped on the mess, shed a tear, then chuckled a bit.

Novak watched from the perimiter and Landry ran away.

Woodson has been at Mike's side, saw what was goin on and easily slid into the spot. I give him some props for what has gone on over the past handful of games.

But make no mistake, the lazy player, in adding the scent of blood to the atmosphere, has attracted the attention of the Great White Shark that is the NYC sports market. If he doesn't deliver, what happened over the past week will look like a Sunday picnic compared to the feast that will be had on him.

It's time to for him to get in shape and win.

Great analysis in an entertaining style. Thanks.

Thanks. I liked yours in another thread, too.

I do not want to see the media/fanbase come down on Melo, to be clear, as that would mean that The Knicks will have failed (knock on wood...)

I think Melo is a good person at heart and I don't question that his desire to win is 100% legitimate. He did show signs that he wanted to work within MDA's system, and almost appeared too defferent at times. I want Melo to be as cold as possible on the court(downright frigid), so if he feels that the 'coach killin' process was necessary for him to excel, so be it.

MDA is good guy, too - they just couldn't strike a balance. In fact, I think that their stubbornness-to-defference ratio is probably near identical. Once the media back n' forth began, it was only a matter of time, though...

I'm not shedding tears for either multi-millionaire.

Woodson is here now and he is bustin' that ass, forcing the chemistry between Melo and Lin - runnin' 1/3 screens on Melo's tired ass late in games, haha...

I hope they get in shape... mentally and physically and Go Knicks!
