This is a friggin soap opera. Dolan is the bizzaro late Mr. Mara. Or as my cousin just put it, the real life Vince McMahon

It sounds like Mike was invovled in negotiating his end here. Dolan is a piece of work but the Melo trade and handling of Walsh upset me more. I think management had set the team up for life after D'Antoni when they brought in Woodson and didn't give Mike a decent point guard knowing who he was as a coach. The dysfunction here is why now. This is an offseason move.

No. Vince McMahon was actually a success in the late 90s-early 2000s to the point WWE became publicly-traded and he became a legit billionaire.

I thought Gruenwald and both signed off on bringing Chandler here. thought TD could get it done and he was wrong. I don't think there were any set ups.

I am depressed this happened. Really bad news for the team and a bunch of players who were trying extremely hard within their limitations to play winning badketball. Now we will have Melo dictate the starting 5. Look for Lin and Amare to sit soon. JR will start over Fields.

Very unfortunate. But I am happy for Mike. He doesn't have to put up with the biggest POS owner in all sports any longer. This season is so over.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I am sorry for NY and the NY fans. An owner that is only looking bring in $$$ not a team.

To be fair, whats so different from what has happened this year, to what happened in the '99 season when Grunfeld and Van Gundy had a rift leading to Grunfeld being fired? During the season, Spree was upset with Van Gundy because he was coming off the bench, didn't mesh with Houston, Camby was getting basked by Van Gundy, etc. Its New York! We live for the drama!!!

Speak for yourself. I just want to see a well run BB organization that wins and can vie for a title. I could care less for all the drama. With Dolan there is ALWAYS some kind of drama.

Plenty of drama with the boss. But he cared a great deal abou twinning too. Take the good with the bad

with any luck, Dolan will learn from The Boss and learn to trust his basketball ops people. Basically once he empowered his key decision makers the franchise excelled. The Knicks will always have the resources to bring good people into the fold.

I'd like to see the team avoid quick, impulsive, major decisions. The D'Antoni firing was a big decision, but it seemed well reasoned and approached properly
