I'll say this, if you look at the box score and not watch the game you might think "Damn, this rookie point guard needs to defer. " If you watched the game, you would see that Stat is being smart and moving the ball as he can't get by his man and is being more careful shooting the ball. That is a smart but a bit passive as well. Perhaps he is just saving his energy for the defensive end.

I don't want Lin taking so many shots, but last nights game was skewed. First, Lin is getting more shots as Stat is not taking so many, really. Second, Lin was clearly trying to get something going and being aggressive in particular cause Stat and Melo (after the 1st qtr) weren't doing much. Third, he played the fourth quarter with Stat and Melo out, so right there was a part of it. Normally he'd be passing anyway, but the Sixers really got up on him (but didn't double as much) so Lin could usually get by his man. But didn't finish well at all, even when he wasn't fouled.

Now, in a typical game if Stat and Melo are both on (should that ever happen again ), you can be sure he will be passing more and also get a few drives in to keep defenses honest.
