What do you guys want out of Melo? Intead of hating on him for a trade you didn't agree with pretty obvious a lot of you guys still hurting over the trade. When do you move on and just simply start rooting for a player to do well after all he is a Knick.

I for one know that this team stands a better chance of getting past Wade and the Heat with Melo than without him.

I could care less which Melo shows up, I want Linsanity back! I wish he would stop trying to fit in with Melo and just play his own game.....which everyone else on the team except for Melo and Amare seem to thrive in.

Lin caught teams by surprise now teams are adjusting to his game. Lin controls Linsanity not Melo that is something Melo dislikers have to understand.

don't agree. during Liinsanity, he had the ball in his hands a LOT and was making decisions; now, not so much.

The Melo I want has never existed. Even in that video, he took way too many bad shots that happened to fall on that day.

As much as Melo sucked this year, he has an 8 year sample size of success compared to Linsanity's 15 or 16 game window. It's like saying Brandon Jennings was "the next great point guard" when he erupted for 55 pts in his rookie season. Teams have figured out Lin, and have game-planned for him already, so he's been ineffective recently. Melo has a proven track record in the regular season and playoffs, so only this year he's having a rough season. It's now up to the coach to get everyone on the same page.

Teams also figured out how to take the ball out of his hands by trapping him the whole game. And it worked. Now its our turn to adjust to it.

i guess it's how you define proven track record and 8 years of success.

His 8 years of success is nothing like that of Tim Duncan's or Kobe's or LeBron's, albeit on different teams with different teammates.

I want to see Melo LEAD his team. Play both ends of the court every night. Make players around him better. Show others how to play. Take responsibility on court and in lockerroom.

I am not sure he has done those things in NY or in Denver on a consistent basis. Certainly been a small sample in NY but I can definitely say he takes time off on defense, which for me puts him at high level players with stats and nothing else.

I agree that is mostly up to the coach to get everyone on the same page, but I also believe if you are a True Superstar and your offensive game is off, you should be able to contribute in other ways and help your team win. If your offensive game is off and you don’t play defense how exactly are you helping your team win games?

The player you seek does not exist. You know the one that never misses a shot the one that gets an assist on every pass. The one that takes a charge on every play the one that blocks every shot taken by an opponent.

I want "YouTubeMelo".

THose highlights that show a player not missing. YouTube has done more to harm fans expectations than even ESPN Highlights.

Take a video, chop it up, put some cool urban beats to it and before long we are just foaming at the mouth for that inflated image.

Its nice, those turn to the basket in your face jump shots are great.

ON YouTube he hits like 80-90%

So give me "YouTube MElo" all day long!

Thank you. Melo took a backseat in the beginning. It's been Lin who has been unsure of his passes and has had a tough time learning when to pull up and when to take the ball to the basket. It's up to to coach him and guide him through this period.

i just want Melo to take efficient shots 75% of the time. and no ISO (unless you have a major mismatch) until 10 second left on the shot clock. is that too much to ask?

Iso are important they draw doubles creates mismatches. This is an important element of basketball. It's a necessary evil of the game.

It only becomes an issue when the offense stagnates and no one else can get their shot. Melo infuriates me at times when he hold the ball, but I recognize there times when he is the only one who can get his shot. We need Melo to bail us out when the shot clock runs down or when the other teams D is clamping down. We need to figure out way to make the offense run so we don't run into these situations as much.
