If I didn't know any better I would believe that Melo is sabotaging this team and trying to get Mike D fired.

Melo is now having the worst shooting stint in his career. He is playing like he really dosen't care. It is the J Lin factor and Mike D type of ball game. I believe that is why Amare is starting to play better because he knows that the leadership is now up for grabs so he is coming out of his funk. LOL all Divas

I don't know about that. Is he trying to get his shot-blocked when he drives to the basket? Or trying to miss layups?

We could say the same about Amare.

We know he did not get along great with Karl. Karl has a good rep and has done very well with the Melo-less Knuggs.

In our small sample we went 8-1 without Melo in the first rush of LInsanity.

Fields talent gets negated when Melo plays with him. Fields did great when Melo was out.

Melo and Amare after a year have yet to show the chemestry of two allstars playing together.

Melo is happy win or lose. Smiles abound with him.

No doubt the kid has extreme talent. HE can pass, he can rebound, he can play defense and he can score but he can't do it at the same time.

MDA ball is not that hard, its not crazy, its not overly complicated nor is it over his head. Im not against a certain number of ISO, in fact its part of the game and its how "Stars" are to close out games.

I saw some bad defense last nite by Melo and I wonder if the team is holding him accountable for effort on that end. USed to be Melo was getting 30 was good for melo and Karl was just left to be frustrated.

Is Melo pouting because of Lin? Is Chandler holding him accountable for his effort? Is he lost not being the focus of the offense all the time?

I don't know. Im long on record for not loving the trade and never been a fan of the kid. To his credit, he carries himself well and seems to be maturing.

He can cement a legacy if he buys in to a team effort.

papa bear is right on the money on this one. at least STAT has the wherewithal to try hard and attempt to lead. sabotaging your own team is an act of cowardice.

I don't think he's sabotaging the team. He's just a very overrated player who's skills are great for the playground but don't fit in well with a team concept.

absolutely. Melo obviously is willing to get bashed for both that he and Amar'e can't work and that his game can't mesh with Lin's just so he can get Pringles sacked

Like I said before something is very wrong with this team. It almost look like they are throwing games. Just watch the body language. They are not even trying and really don't care about it. Melo wants nothing to do with the run and gun. He can't stand it. Landry Fields was under the basket for an easy lay up and we really needed that point but instead Melo tried a 3 pointer and threw up brick.

This whole Melo hate is taking on a life of its own. The Melo I saw today was playing well and playing hard. Grabbing boards, taking good shots, etc. he deserves part of the blame for the problems, but so do Amar'e, Lin, JR and most of all the coach.

I believe at the end of the season he didn't endorse D'Antoni and then did later. I don't think he is a fan of the coach.

If he not a fan of the coach, then he should have stayed his a** in Denver! We were building something special here and doing just fine without him! He has done nothing since he's been here..... NOTHING! Oh wait, he did use up all our cap space, so I guess that counts for something. Smh!

People are looking at the bigger picture, not any one game.

That's an accurate way to describe a team that has completely given up on their coach.

His body language is more nonchalant and devil-may-care than the players.

IMHO I don't believe that Melo or other players are trying to get MDA fired. They're not inspired, motivated, or interested. There seems to be a disconnect between too many key players and the coach. Here's the Melo post-game clip:

http://knicksnow.com/videos/759/melo-phi-106-ny-94

I didn't get a "lets drop games and get the coach fired" vibe from that. He, and other players seem confused, and not knowing WTF is going on, and that's not a good look. It's the coach's job to get the players on the same page, and that's not evident now.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

It's more feasible for melo to adjust his game—to buy into MDA's system than for MDA to change his coaching philosophy to cater to melo. but unfortunately i don't think we can win with MDA so it's a lose lose situation.

Thats why Kobe needed to go through a few coaches before he got PJax. Some coaches are just not suited for certain players.

Kobe would be enemy number one in this offense just like he was in LA pre PJAX.

Yeah

I guess Melo was trying to sabotage MDA by getting benched at the end of the first quarter when he was playing really well ... maybe MDA is trying to make Melo the scapegoat and does not want to see Melo go on a good streak.

BTW, I believe both of these scenarios are BS - but you can swing it either way

I told you so. I believe now you will see the real Melo who can shoot the lights out. You will see a Melo that will take over this team but he has to do 2 more things. Get rid of Lin and Fields. Especially Lin. There can only be one Diva on this team. That's Melo. Amare has already accepted his role. And that is Scotty Pipen or you can call him Robin or you can call him Tonto or you can call him Gabby Hayes.

I don't think Melo was a fan of D'Antoni but I am not ready to say he dogged it to get him fired. Also, Melo has said that Lin is his favorite teammate so I don't think he is chasing him out of town. If Melo plays like a star and the Knicks win everything will be fine.

My guess is that Melo is too concerned with his individual stats to ever do this. Maybe he stopped trying on defense but I can't imagine that he'd intentionally miss shots or commit turnovers.

Melo plays a well rounded game when he wants to but i don't think he can do this every night—physically. even his butler Stephen A. was saying he needs to lose 15 lbs and get into better shape yesterday. the pressure is on him to play hard every night and he might but don't be surprised if he gets injured.
If I didn't know any better I would believe that Melo is sabotaging this team and trying to get Mike D fired.
