I was watching the game on NBA league pass with the Cleveland feed. Late in the game where Lin had the ball on the left side, he did a pump fake and got fouled. The announcers stated that Lin broke off the designated play and took it himself and Melo didn't seem happy. Clev. took a time out and they followed them back to the huddle and Melo seemed to be lecturing Lin about the play. On the final play where Melo drove and had a nice dunk, after the dunk they had a close up on Melo and he seemed intense/pissed off, not what you expect when you just won big and you ended it with a nice dunk. Don't get me wrong I am one of Melo's biggest fan here but just wondering if MSG said anything. I didn't read anything about this.

I don't know for certain, but I wouldn't be surprised. On the MSG feed off the boradband leaguepass, Bernard King (how cool is it that he does games now) mentioned that everytime Melo got the ball and didn't move it the crowd groaned a little. After he said that I listened for it and that was accurate. My guess is more than anything is he's feeling th epressure to mesh his game to Lin's. Once they get experience together I doubt this will be an issue because there were more than a few awesome set-ups from Lin where Melo got clear paths to the basket

See how Melo and Lin walk off the court after the game near the end of the vid. They look fine to me.

And this kind of things happen. Dirk chewed Marion out during the Knicks game for not switching, but that doesn't mean the Mavs are going to fall apart. Even in rec games, you'll see teammates do that to one another. I'd rather them having that than stewing.

I thought Bernard was very good. He did an excellent job and should be the next in line so to speak for that job.

His content was outstanding. His delivery could use work but it was terrible either. Overall, I thought it was reallly good and I hope he is next in line too

i thinik melo needs to chill. i mean lin got him a lot easy buckets. Lin also knows that when melo calls for an iso that doesn't make sense he will not go to him.

I like that Lin is starting to ignore Melo's post ups and ball-demands more.. He knows how to keep everyone involved, I trust him with the ball in his hands... as long as Chalmers isnt guarding him lol

Exactly. I understand giving it to melo when he has a mismatch but its betetr for the whole team when lin could get the ball to melo on the move. How many times did lin get melo the ball easily when he keeps moving I mean melo couldn't be stopped. i wish melo would do that the whole game he would have 40

I thought Melo had a great efficient game last noght.

22 Pts on 9 of 16 shooting
5 rebounds
4 assists

I would like 3-4 more rebounds but I loved that he attacked the rim on Lin setups.

On the last minute though, I think Lin called a play with Amare on a PnR but Melo started to post up. You can see Amare waiving his hands like WTF? Lin started the play and still got the ball to Amare on a perfect roll for a thunder dunk shot.

Melo is an alpha dog and wants the ball in crunch time. I think Tyson and Amare will keep him in check.

Yea. The People know.

But I will give Kudos to Melo for taking only 16 shots. That's manageable. It's not like he was in ISOs for 25+ shots.

I was surprised they did not a PnR or PnP with Lin and Melo.

Yea, what's up with that? I didn't see a single PnR with Lin-Melo. I tuned in at the half, so I can't speak for the First.

I think the Lin-Melo PnR would be STUPID DANGEROUS.

It's sports. Teammates YELL at each other aaaaaaaaaaalllllllll the time as if they are married. At some point in the first half, Lin was yelling at Chandler too and looked annoyed. It's how they respond to each other after that counts.

Roybatty is 100% right: When they walked off the court, they looked like best buds. I wouldn't worry about teammates argueing too much. Basketball is quite an intense sport.

for anyone who saw after the game when the knicks do that circle thing - lin put his around melo and they walked off the court laughing and smiling. hard to imagine something is wrong if they are doing that.

Since we are over-analizing game footage, why don't we analyze Melo's and Lin's embrace after the buzzer and the camaraderie they showed?

This is a team that still finding its groove with the lack of practices. If the play was set and messed up, its fine to let it be known. But at the end, they are a team and they know it, so they will be in the same page at the end.

Can't wait to see this team after the short mini camp of the next three days.
