he's done a terrific job assembling a team of disparate parts.

his offense and system and coaching staff developed jeremy lin.

he has the team playing at an elite defensive level.

a team no one thought was deep to start the season looks DEEP as sh!t now, because everyone knows their role.

EXTEND MIKE D'ANTONI

He's got his players' support. Get it done and make it a nonstory.

Didn't Nalod start a thread on this?

Either way, MDA is a good coach - glad there is finally some support for him around here.

no doubt crzy.. agree 100%

no matter how bad of a job anyone thinks he did with previous teams, he's done a wonderful job with this one.

We did that last year! Really tho winning against the top team in the east that is banging on all cylinders is a big haul, but I don't think it means anything if we lost except that it was a tough road game. This team is not even close to clicking on all cylinders yet so the Heat game won't be a final judgment on what this team can really do.

I wish we had Shump cuz his D puts us over the top and makes us a really tough team to score against. I do like JR's D tho. He's a VERY good defender. Very Active and athletic.

Didn't catch that earlier, so Shump is definitely out tomorrow?

Actually I don't know for sure. My guess is yea since he's not gonna do the Slam Dunk Contest. I guess they would want to give him time to heal 100%. I don't know that for sure, only a guess.

Extend him, he finally has a team, and he was willing to stay through all that crap. With this depth, his system will dominate much of the time. Wait till they get to practice.

yeah, if this was a full season with regular rest, i think the record would be much better. losing to the nets on the third game in four nights doesn't bother me much, especially with shump out and deron motivated to show he's no chump.

agreed - MDA has put up with a LOT of crap and has put together two completely different teams in the last two years that have been a lot of fun to watch, with a lot of potential. best part is - there's no big trade to screw things up coming now!

I think you wait and see what happens. No one was posting this on Monday night. The Knicks are on a great run and are back at .500. A winning season and playoff success would be the first steps towards getting an extension in my opinion.

Playoffs!! Success? Extend.

An owner would be an idiot to extend at this point before he has to. See how this mesh works out, be successful in the playoffs (at least win a round?? PLEASE?), then extend. Oh, I forgot, the owner is an idiot so who knows.

Why as fans do we care when he gets his new contract? So he can be calmer and concentrate more on coaching? I would rather he coach with a fire under his ass.

Does he get the credit for assembling this team? Not sure he does - Grunwald is the GM.
