It's no secret that many of us at one time or another absolutely could not stand JJ aka fishlips but I feel it necessary to give respect where respect is due.

Is it infuriating when he misses a wide open jumper or blows a layup? Of course but there is no denying that he has been playing excellent D. He's a magnet for drawing offensive fouls, has been hitting the glass hard, stealing the ball at a decent clip and has been a great team player.

It's easy for us to knock him for what he's not good at but the guy has been playing well and deserves a little Knick fan love.

It is amazing how much a good point guard can impact a big man's play. Jeffries actually looks coordinated out there now. I even say him make a put back without touching the ground first. The cloud has lifted.

I was in the Jared Jefferies fan club from the start. I didnt like his contract but I always loved how he plays even though he cant hit a layup and makes himself look silly. Now I am the greatest poster ever for sticking with him.

count me in. yesterday when terry shoved lin for a foul, Jared Jeffries went over to have a chat with him—it was awesome.

he might not show up on the stat sheets but trust me, his tenacious D and offensive rebounds are not going to go unnoticed if we go deep into the playoffs.

As much as I couldn't care less about Jared Jeffries in the past, I must say that his importance and positive impact on this team is evidenced both by his improved production and in his teammates' comments about him.

He's always been making an effort on D., but I know his offense is improving because I rarely cringe when I see Jared about to take a shot.

Lin is helping make Jared better offensively, and Jared even admitted that within the past week.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Jeffries 1.0 was awful. He played decent D but he was so unsure of himself on offense that he frequently couldn't even make a layup. He got more minutes than he was worth. Jeffries 2.0 looks more confident on offense and defense. "Jeffries for 3" still makes me cringe, but at least he isn't afraid to shoot the rock. Chandler and Jeffries make one of the best defensive tandems in the league IMO.

I wasn't against him coming back as long as Jeffries wasn't the starter. Its paid off. He is reminding me of Oak in the way that he does things that don't always show up on the stat sheet.

JJ as a starter showed how imbalanced the roster was.

The hate he got after the playoffs was silly.

JJSkinny, Tyson, Shump, Fields and Lin is a very good defensive unit. I would say that it is our best defensive lineup.

I saw that too. Given Terry's comment before and after the game, I am sure it was a cheap shot.

JJ is one of the few guys out there who will put his body on the line. yes JJ has his weaknesses but he could have still made more money somewhere else because of his defense alone but he wanted to be here

JJ is a good luxury to have on a competitive team. He doesn't have the pressure on him that he had in the past and he just focus on what he does best. While he's a good defensive player, it was kind of crazy that we had him guarding the opponents bets guard at times the last fe seasons. Now that we have Chandler to battle inside and Shump to battle on the perimeter, I th has more leeway to put JJ in postions where he can succeed. On the flip side, I think that lack of pressure has also made him relax more on the offensive end. He's putting the ball on the floor with getting stripped half the time and he looks confident shooting the jumper. That said, 15 to 20 minutes a game should be his cap.

Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right. - The Tick

I've liked JJ since he got here and have said many times he would be valuable in a role that suits him. when our team stinks and you need JJ to not miss layups then he stinks. But when you have firepower around him and he can focus on doing hte little things it becomes a different story. He did it in Washington a few years back and I knew he would do it here. Was called an idiot many times on this site. Well allow me to retort:

I TOLD YOU SO!

I just hope that people will like me

Good points. Jeffries does seem much more relaxed. Must be great having someone in the paint to battle with you like Chandler.

I remember coming across a good thread on Jeffries when I was lurking a few years ago:

I was wrong on JJ.I was extremely frustrated watching him miss layups and shoot airballs. But I am very hapy to see him get better in offense. His defense has been crazy. This guy is incredibly versatile defender and a huge reason for our good team D.
