Noooo! If this means Fields goes to bench I will be upset.

I just think it means Bibby and Walker will not see the court again once Smith gets settled. That second unit with shump and JR at the 1 and 2 is long and athletic. If Davis somes back you shift them to the 2 & 3 spots.

I personally want to see a Lin, Smith, Melo, Novak, and Harrelson. STAT would work too but I just want to see those shooters around Lin. One more reason I would pick Jorts is that you need a deffensive presence. But imagine Lin and Melo on the pick n roll. In the future I think we will see a line up similar with STAT and Shump inserted at where I put Jorts and JR particularly when NY plays Miami and they go small with Chambers/Cole, Wade, James, Miller/Shane/Jones, and Bosh/Haslem. They have many cobos they can go with just like NY has now even without Smith because of Walker.

We add Smith to this squad and watch out. Don't have to watch Walker shoot bricks for the rest of the season.

I like the idea of adding his talent. I do not like adding his attitude to the team chemistry. I would be very wary of it.

I think Chandler would knock him down a peg of he started to act up. Besides, I think he's pretty tight with Melo.

I was all for this pick-up about a week ago. But the way Shump has developed recently, I'm not so sure I want to add JR. If Davis returns at some point we will have a log jam on the perimeter. Walker and Bibby losing mins is a give, but with Davis in the mix, Shump/or Fields and possibly Novak will lose mins....Its a tough call...

pass. Too much of a chucker and Fields/Shump should be manning the SG spots

I love Shump but a veteran SG could be the differnce between moving on and going home in the playoffs. If JR wants to win he goes to the Knicks. If he wants minutes for a new big contract he goes the Clip joint.

Now if we get JR and Baron can actually play this year we have sick depth.

JR can run the point with the second unit. Mike Bibby, we have some nice parting gifts for you.

I will leave it up to MDA, Warkentien and Grunwald.

Its basically a rest of season rental as he will look to get paid.

In a perfect world melo pulls out of the Allstar game and our team lays low and instead of vacationing for a few days they run drills acclimating it all together as a form of "Mini camp". Then go on a tear!

JR has obvious talent but its the chemistry i'd be concerned with.

Nalod - great call on the midseason Boot Camp. It would allow the guys to maintain momentum and work out any Carmelo adjustments behind closed doors, rather than in-game.

This whole episode is too cool for words.

I support this as long as we could also bring in Isiah Rider (from retirement)

I think the Knicks can get creative once Baron returns. Who knows if he ever plays this year?

You can even give Novak some of JJ's minutes at backup PF keep Amare real fresh for the playoff run.

If anyone misses more time do to injury we have a lot of depth

Cringes...yes. Bibby is last week's toast and TD's shot and confidence is shot. Shumpert is great when paired with Lin, but with anyone else, looks tentative.
