Felton/Gallo/Moz were all easy to root for, but absolutely the latter. Raises the ceiling of this team significantly.

There's no comparison. Say what you will about Melo, the dude is a beast and when he's healthy he's clearly in a class above Gallo. Tyson v Moz? Come on. For this team it would probably work better to have Gallo to spread the floor, but Melo can do that as well and should thrive playing with Lin and when Lin isn't in there. MDA is gonna play STAT and Melo without the other in the middle of the game. It gives them some time to be the focal point of the offense.

I agree with you on Melo and STAT but I think they need some time with Melo and Mare running the PnR without Chandler on the floor

The answer is obvious. We got the right players. All we need if for them to learn to play together well.

All 3 of the latter are better than the 3 in the former. Look at Felton's year to see that it was D'Antoni who made him great last year. Also- Chandler is a top 3 paint defender in this league and people need to stop comparing Gallo/Melo as if it's close.

The results speak for themselves.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Lets go a step further. I know a lot of fans do not like J.R. Smith but if he does sign with ny what did they lose?

Chandler=Smith

Felton=Lin

Mosgov=Chandler

Gallo=Melo

After Trade

Billups=Davis

Brewer=shumpert

Sheldon Williams=Jorts

I think the only one that is not an upgrade is Billups. Now there is a hitch and that is J.R. signing here and some may not think he is an upgrade which I can understand but it is a push at worst, imho.

I am a big Gallo fan. In the NBA you need Defense, a clutch scorer and a PG to orchestrate. Chandler, Melo and Lin provide all that. Oh and you can add in STAT, Shump and Fields too!

How can raymond felton be an option at this point of his career, when he's playing the worst he every has in his life..

Lin is avg 26 and 9ast, thats like better then any pg in the last idk how many years..This is like a no brainer

What made the trade tilt in our favor was the addition of Chandler and Lin.

Its obvious Dolan signed with the devil.

I would trade Gallo back to Denver for Melo and our two draft picks if everything else could be the same.

That gives us more cap space and picks to add and build for the future.

But in the land of Dolan the future is now.

I am a HUGE Gallo fan, but I am a bigger Jeremy Lin fan. I watch these games with my 10 year old girl and 7 year old boy and my 7 year old keeps telling me he wants to be like Jeremy Lin.

No contest...the current trio we have in the poll are all superior than the previous trio.

Yet it's not like it would be impossible to have both Lin and Gallo. I'd admit it is unlikely since we'd have Felton but with Felton and Douglas both playing like garbage they might have been looking for help at the PG position.

Regardless, though, I like having Lin in the back-court and Tyson at C. The team will go as far as Melo takes them. If Melo comes back and takes 19 shots while hitting 39%, it's gonna be ugly. If he changes his game, we'll at least have a good team.

I remember telling posters that were all up in arms about losing depth that the depth is easier to replace than Melo. Remains to be seen is if Melo is The Answer but, either way, there is more talent on this roster now than then

If you're getting a legitimate superstar, you can definitely later replace the depth. Like you said, the burden will be on Melo to show that he is the answer though. The team is looking very good without him and expectations will be high for him when he returns.
