make no mistake. I dont know how all of these guys are going to intertwine. Im kind of thinking of moving Amare to sixth man like Kevin Mchale
Something like this?

Chandler
Jefferies
Fields
Melo
Lin
Amare
Shumpert
Novak
Walkler

interesting idea. besides STAT getting blocked at a career high rate, he just hasn't looked good while playing alongside chandler.

Man up everyone that blasted the guy.

After the rust was shaken off, 6/13 second half...was blocked a ton of times (7?) and still got 20.

I like bringing shumpert off the bench. He shuts down other teams back court player.

Could slow down d rose in the playoffs.

Amare should continue to start and add to the chemistry.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

This team will continue to develop chemistry and find the right balance to win games. If we hit more of our open shots we blow this team out.

Lin n Shump are Rush Hour 4!!! They are a dynamic pair.

No...stat should start. He was rusty tonight, but he still had a good stretch in the 2nd half. Amir Johnson is a tough matchup for anyone because he is long and can leap. He gave Amare fits, but I think overall he ended up with a pretty good game. As he develops chemistry with Lin on the pick and roll he is gonna be back...I really do believe this.

Not because of 1 bad or good game. I think the 4-1 set is better for this team. Using Amare off the bench would give us a coveted 20 PPG 6th man that great teams have.

We just went to the wire with the Craptors. Shumpert won that game with his D but starting a offensively inept lineup isnt the key.

I disagree...when these guy play pick and roll you will see Stat dominate like last year. You don't need 20 off the bench...Amare needs to establish himself early in the games so we can play inside and out.

Too weird for Amare- I think it's better to work it out with Amare starting but not being overused minutes wise- He won't hurt us and Iman is relishing the 6th man role - gives us solid passing too if Lin is out and intense defense- less early foul trouble for Iman if he's off the bench he can stay aggresive

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

DUDE!!! It's the 1st game back. Can we let them play a bit together before we pass final judgment??? This team will have similar adjustment issues when Melo and Baron get in there. It's part of the process of this regular season. By the Playoffs they'll be on another level.

Love the idea of having a shut down unit coming in to change the tenor of the game. This game also brings to mind the old saying, "It's who finishes the game". Keep Amar'e in the starting lineup, embrace Melo when he comes back. Make room for Jorts, he's part of the mix. WE ARE GONNA BE THE BOMB!!

I think the way to answer this issue is - keep Amar'e fresh and only play him 28minutes a night.

Shumpert did indeed win the game.

The Shumpert / Lin backcourt is just so impressive and dare I say... dominant.

Amare should definitely continue to start...he was beginning to bust out before the tragedy. Chemistry will be tighter...I like how the team runs the pick and roll and has the SF on the wing in case they double down and the 2 in the corner for the 3 or drive.

Melo awaiting the pass off Lin-Stat pick and roll will be pretty much unstoppable.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

Overreacting Post to one average game from Amare after missing a week of work and dealing with the death of his brother. SMH. I guess Dallas should have brought Dirk from the bench when he was stinking it up early in the season too.

Crazy how some Knicks fans can disrespect perennial allstars like Melo and Amare consistently.

Knicks actually have a pretty potent bench. Novak has proven to be an effective shooter who can bring some instant O. I think Harrelson is gonna be real good on the pick and pop when he gets back. Depending on whether its Landry or Shump coming off the bench there is also at least one more major energy guy coming in.

At this point the 6th man role is set up for Baron Davis.

think it's the same reason Lin is so popular - we really do like rooting for the underdog here. which is cool, but Amar'e and Melo still have lots to offer this team.

people might forget that Carlos Boozer couldn't even conceive of stopping Amar'e about a week and a half ago. it was pre-Lin, so it feels like another lifetime, but the right matchup and Amar'e can single-handedly win a game for us, still.

let's let Lin and Amar'e develop some ESP on the PnR and see what happens. though i do like the idea of keeping Amar'e at around 30 minutes if possible, to keep him fresh. Jeffries has earned 24 minutes a night backing up Tyson and Amar'e and Melo.
