There is no way Lin continues at this pace...Melo is beginning to be the new Marbury in Knickland...He will be blamed for everything wrong with the Knicks...He was blamed for Field's lack of production...He was blamed and continue to be blamed for Denver's success and will no doubt will be blamed when we notice Lin's human like numbers again...No one noticed Lin was 1-12 from the field in the second half of the Minny game...Back pages in NY credited Lin with the win...Can't wait...

as long as the wins don't stop. just heard on ESPN he's coming back this weekend.

I'd imagine Lin's numbers dropping to 15 ppg, 8 apg with Melo and Amare back

I'm more positive. Can't wait for Amare, Melo, Lin to gel and make hell for opponents.

Might sound weird, but I can see Lin cruising to something like 15 points and 12 assists per game with stat and melo in there. There will be more possessions, better scoring, (less defense) ... some of Lin's assist numbers could be video-game-good

I'm listening to the roundtable on ESPN...Talk radio in NY is going nuts right now this very minute on two stations...Melo is blowing up on the talk shows...Man I wish I can be positive...

why are you so concerned about perceptions of Melo? he's going to fit in just fine. he was just relieved of some duties that he was really fit to handle. the emergence of Lin is a win for Melo as a player. might be a loss for Melo as a "star." but the only people that should be concerned about Melo's star level are his agents and marketers. even Melo should be more concerned about winning than anything else. i hope he's not thinking like you are.

Knick buzz is all over the radio waves...It's great...WFAN was on to baseball already and Lin changed all that...Man I could listen to Knick talk 24/7...It just seems like it all negative when people should be jumping for joy after getting this freebie of a PG...

Unforgiven

Carmelo, From Savior to Expatriate

... this is starting to feel like a no-win situation for Carmelo. Right now, Lin is perfect: He hasn't lost, and the Knicks have turned their season around. He's getting Amar'e back tomorrow, and he has three very winnable games this week (at Toronto, home against Sacramento and New Orleans), games Carmelo won't be around for.

When Anthony returns, the schedule tightens up. Also, Lin is sure to regress at some point, and there will be inevitable growing pains as everyone figures out the new order. If the Knicks lose some games they shouldn't during this time, it's not going to be Lin fans blame: It'll be Carmelo.

The only way out of this for Carmelo is for the Knicks to win with the same regularity when Carmelo returns as they are doing right now. That is impossible. Carmelo wanted New York's spotlight. He's about to have it."

Lin is averaging 16.7 FGA this month, Melo averaging 18.8 and Stat 15.5 on the season. Something has to give. Lin is going to have to shoot less, keep Melo involved without letting the rest of the team go cold, and Melo is going to have to share the rock when his shot isn't falling.

I don't believe he will have the same rep as Marbury because he seems to get along better with his teammates. The press might treat him like Marbury but if the fans see Melo trying to make it work, it won't stick.

Looks like someone's got a bit of a hard on for ol' melo huh lol. Lin doesn't deserve all the credit guys like jeffries, tyson, shumpert, and novak have played very well. for the first time since early last year this is a team. Im sorry but people have every right to be critical of melo i mean if he would have just waited for FA im telling you he wouldn't have as much heat on him but her made the wrong decision. Now im rooting for melo to be a team player because im a knick fan.

This is the plight of a star. He is getting paid plenty so he is going to have to deal with it.

Melo isn't soft. He is going to play his game. Knicks management isnt stupid. I just hope they still try to get in a veteran PG.

it's the plight of a star, but the benefit is that he has you to slurp his balls. so i guess it all evens out.

Holfresh, it's quite simple. If Melo hogs the ball and jacks up a lot of shots, the Knicks will most likely lose. If he plays within' the offense, takes good shots and realizes that his teammates have talent and plays WITH them, then the Knicks will be indestructable. The nervousness about Melo returning is well warranted.

My hope is he will move without the ball more, run the floor, fill the lane, not rely on being a point forward (B/c he's obviously not good at that), continue playing defense and let Jeremy be the QB. He can easily average 20/6-8/3-5 with how I suggested.

Him averaging 39% from the field is NOT an option, no matter how much you love him. If he resists what his role should be and continues jacking up horrid shots at the clip he was, we should trade him. If he does what I hope, then he should have his number hung on the rafters because we will win a championship that way.

....Linsanity goes bonkers and the NBA kicks itself in the ass during it's biggest game of the year because the NBA's biggest star is watching the game from home :)

Happy Anniversary Carmelo

Carmelo's first game with the Knicks was February 23, 2011. He has not been here a year.

Carmelo and Amar'e were still a work in progress.

Jeremy Lin will keep the ball moving and make the game fun. Carmelo and Lin will communicate in the same manner that expressive players do. Whether it is a conversation during a stoppage in play or a look on the break, they will work it out and it will be beautiful to watch. Once they connect in The Garden, the crowd will exhale and the scribes will scratch their collective heads for another juicy headline. It will be very loud.

Is the Raptors game appointment television?

You damn skippy.

First off I'm not concern about Melo star level...I could give two ****s about Melo's numbers...I'm addressing an issue that is the current topic of discussion on television, on the radio and to a lessor extent, one that has the most commentary hits on this board...I, in no uncertain term in many other threads has expressed my joy for the gift we found at the end of our bench in Jeremy Lin...The fact that I look at all the topics of the current discussions and comment on both positive and negative discussions should not question whether I support the team or a particular player...I support both along with the rest of the players on this roster..

I don't bury my head in the sand as many do nor do I live in fantasy land and think everything come up positive a tho we live on Candy Mountain...

Can't wait for Melo to get the blame when Lin's production slows down...
