Melo and Chandler for Howard. NOW!

Melo is not a fit in NY period. I love how Chandler is playing but we need to sweeten the deal and paying a guy 54 Mill to come off the bench would be stupid. Trading the ball hog for Howard gives us the best center in the league, a man that can score twenty a night without demanding the ball, and dominates on the defensive end. Amare will be able to return to his game because even though Howard is a force inside he's willing to clear out for amare and then ballhawk the offensive board for put backs.

You know he'll sign in NY because he's dying for the big stage and there are none bigger than the Mecca of basketball; even Jordan thought so. Why would he choose a Laker team with an aging star and a traffic jam of 7 footers. Plus! Getting rid of Melo and Chandler's bulky contracts would clear room to pick up both Wilson Chandler and JR Smith - at least for the remainder of the season! Imagine a starting five of Dwight Howard, Amar'e Stoudamire, Wilson Chandler, JR Smith, and Jeremy Lin! Davis, Douglas, fields, Shumpert, etc. all available off the bench.

And the final reason to get Howard for mister offensive black hole is because if Lin ends up being a flash in the pan there's always Deron Williams available at the end of the year. Another player seeking the NY stage, and a team rocking Howard and Amar'e would be difficult to pass up.

Bottom line Melo needs to go! His inflated ego forced the Knicks to trade away everything they were missing this season. A starting point guard that was a maestro at directing d'antoni's offense, a solid scorer that could play the two or three, an Italian sharp shooter, and a back up center with huge potential. He forced the Knicks to trade away the core of the team when he KNEW he'd be a Knick anyway at the end of the year. He could've joined a team that had all the parts in place, but instead he demanded the limelight - fed off the drama of the trade - and forced the Knick's hand. Why would you cripple the team you want to play for?? Can anyone fathom that?

Melo destroyed the Knicks long before stepping on the hardwood floor at the Garden. We should've seen his inability to be a team player when he dismantled the Knicks single handedly. He's a one man show. Just ask Denver! The only reason Orlando will take him is because they'd be getting two all stars under long term deals to put people in the seats.

Do the deal!!!

tyson has been solid for us. in fact he has been snubbed by the all0star voting. melo we're stuck with so hopefully he buys into what we are doing. i mean the problem with melo is that he doesn't think things through. i mean he wanted to be a knick so instead of waiting he makes us gut our team. Now hopefully when it comes to lin melo uses his head for once and realizes this is the best way for us to win

Theo,

We just going to ride it out and see if Melo can get it together with Lin.

How are none of you seeing the facts? Denver has been better without Melo and they have half of the pieces we sent them, and no JR Smith. Any NBA caliber player can average 26 to 30 points a night when he shoots the ball between 25-30 times a game. He's too old to change his game, and how can you ignore his negative affect on Amar'e; the man that put us on his back and carried us out of the NBA's basement.

Denver was a WCF team with Melo. Now they are a team stuck in the first round mediocrity without the ability to lure free agents. This condensed season has favored teams with depth (DEN, PHI, IND, etc.) which is why they all seem to be playing well above expectations.

Money lures free agents... Period! Also, how can you say they're a first round team without Melo? How many playoff rounds did they win with him?

Once they acquired a shooter and veteran leader in Chauncey Billups, they became a threat in the West each year. They were second seeded in the Western Conference at the midpoint of 2010, that is until Karl went down with cancer which ruined the entire season, culminating with their first postseason series loss WITH HCA.

I agree, get rid of Melo before he has a chance to play with a point guard. Then we never have to worry about "if" he can do it.

Melo will be fine. He WANTS to be here. He WANTS to win. Let Lin find him some good looks and we'll be on our way. We certainly could have used him last night.

Im thru with starphuching and living by the trade drug. For the first time in a while we have legitimate reasons to believe things will get better. Not only do we still have our big three of Melo, Amar'e and Chandler, we also finally got the engine that gets this machine going: an exciting point guard.

We still haven't seen this team at full strength and yet we are close to .500. If or when we get Baron and Jorts back, we could be something bigger than we all imagined, just like Jeremy Lin has turned out to be.

No more trades, people. Its an addiction that will get you nothing good. Dwight is amazing, but Chandler is great defensively and with a passing PG can score. Melo is a star who will give us more offensive options than just P' n R', and those who saw the game yesterday can agree there were times we needed Melo to carry us through a tough stretch.

I want this team to grow together. The youth of Lin, Shumpert, Fields, Jorts and Jordan meshing with the veteran savy of Baron, Melo, Jeffries, Amar'e and Chandler.

Lets try continuity for a change.

So I suppose you're all willing to see Amar'e continue to fade away? Even George Karl prefers his team without Melo!! He's all but said it verbatim. We've won five straight without Melo. Let's see how quick he plays us back into the bottom of the East when he returns, and if he were there last night he would've monopolized every shot like he always does. We won so obviously we didn't need him.

what Melo pegged as a blackhole isolation scorer last year? is your memory that short?

is he a bit of a ball stopper? yes. but he is an elite scorer when healthy that puts the ball in the basket. he's even more improved this season in the fact that he sees double teams and finds the open player more often than not. You want to call him a ballhogging blackhole when at the start of the season, Douglas, Bibby, Fields and Walker were absolutely worthless, Amare hadn't gotten his legs, Shumpert was injured or adjusting to the point guard role, and our support cast couldn't hit an open three to save their lives.

It sounds like there are more Melo fans here than knick fans... Shows how he made the allayed squad when he didn't deserve it... At least not as a starter. Like Stephen A said how many people would vote Lin in his spot right now instead?

Are you kidding me?? Get off Melo's junk!! He has less assists in his entire career than Kenton had in his first four seasons... Yes he was an offensive black hole last year as well... Is your memory so short that you forget the losing record since he came over and a sweep by the ancient celtics? If he's such a great athlete and an elite player why the heck can't he learn to play defense?
Please God trade Melo now!!
