i wonder if landry or shumpert is moved to a backup role?

And TD starts at SG over Landry or Shump? You crazy.
Unless JJ's starting at SG instead of Stat's slot. I'd be cool with JJ trying to be the old Pau Gasol

what the hell are you talking about?

lin is the pg, jeffries is the pf.

who is moved to the bench, shumpert or landry? only one guy can start at sg. im assuming landry is starting.

my bad, thought you were including both in a backup role. Jeffries comment was sarcasm (see the smiley)

I second martin's 100% Shump. Why would Landry stop starting?

Another big question is will Jerome Jordan get some meaningful playing time? Jared starting gmeans they are a big man short. Unless they go with Balkman.

I'd rather see Landry come off the bench. Shumpert is more of an SG, is better at attacking the rim, and plays better D. I've been reading about how Shumpert is hitting a wall energy wise, so he might be on the bench in part to let him recover. Landry has been playing great lately but I'm curious to see how a Lin/Shump backcourt will do with extended minutes. Gotta be better than a TD and anyone else backcourt, that's for sure.

If Jefferies is starting then we should tamper our expectations for Lin. There will be less pick n rolls or easy dishes.

I'll tell you right now, Lin and Shrump will be the best defensive backcourt we've had in a long while.

Is "stop starting" the same as "start stopping"?

Part of the reason to leave Landry in starting lineup is for consistency sake. Shump has been in and out, so no big deal.

And then Shump gets minutes against opponent second line.

They (Lin/Jefferies) played just fine from the last game...

GustavBahler - Landry let Lin sleep on the sofa. They will share the ball based on principles they learned at elite colleges.

Then again, you let someone crash on your sofa, how can you NOT get to know them better?

Shift du jour

Lin, 10 assists
Landry, moving and groovin
Carmelo, learning the joy of the open shot
Jeffries, did he just make a reverse layup?
Chandler, swoopin and alley oopin

Shump as sixth man
Douglas, banned from shooting three's
Balkman, need someone to crash the glass

the rest can take a hike

once a knick always a knick

True, Shump has been inconsistent at times. I'm hoping that he won't have as much on his plate at SG. Lin might make that possible if he can keep playing well, not to mention when Davis starts playing, whenever that is. I'm actually happy that Davis isn't rushing back, gives more time to Lin.

Good points Earl. Chandler and Jeffries make a nice defensive tandem and JJ is starting to assert himself offensively as you pointed out. Can we just ban TD altogether? Wouldn't mind seeing a little more PT for Jerome Jordan though.

agree with both of these points. i wouldn't screw with landry right now - it seems like he's finally getting back to where he was at last year pre-trade and a demotion and change might screw him back up again.

it's crazy - our whole backcourt (rotation) is actually pretty good defensively. i would say that the supposed bench guys (td and shump) is actually one hell of a defensive backcourt. not bad to have that for a change.
