We would've beat Chicago and Boston too if Lin had played

God I hope Knicks get Davis and JR Smith soon...it would be the topper in hopefully a turning point in this season.

A Nets team without 2 of their key players also.

Brooks is good but Morrow had 42 last night. The Nets miss Bropez but the Knicks were without Jorts and Baron.

Meh! We weren't exactly in great shape ourselves on a triple Bac set. Just wanna see the team come together and play well. I don't care about being better than last years team. Just play well and get on a roll.

Baron's never played a game as Knick (and may never), and we acquired him injured. It's silly to count him. Brooks and Lopez are way better player than Jorts.
I loved how Jeremy Lin played and it was nice to finally get a win. This thread is silly though.

Last year's team wasn't going to scare anyone in the playoffs. This team could if they keep improving and coming together as a team.
Maybe upset a higher seed if Baron is relatively healthy and Lin continues to play well, not necessarily put up big numbers.

Knicks are weaker at the point and power forward because amare has struggled so much this year. Amare is definitely on the upswing as is the point guard position. This is a team that is starting to gel. I think it is too soon to say about the comparison but things definitely are on the upswing for the 11/12 team.

it's ok to be optimistic guys. It's not like we lose our jobs if we are wrong

People dont realize that Amare used to be money on that 15-20 footer. He has been missing that really bad this year which I believe is the biggest difference in this team. Missing those shots has also caused him to not be able to drive to the hoop as well since the shot is not getting the same request.

Amare is a notorious slow starter - he will come around.

God I miss SNIT level. Those were good times.

My God. We barely beat the lowly Nets without Brooks and Lopez. And we can't expect 25/7 from Lin every night.

I've been impressed with the way we have been playing, though. The Knicks will prove that they have legitimately turned it around if they beat the Jazz at home on Monday. They are above .500, so that's a true test. Neither team on the end of a back-to-back(to back).

I agree. We want to build a playoff type team not a perennial second round exit team like Denver. They are going nowhere

If we do squeak into the playoffs, we're facing Miami/Chicago in round one. You have to be more than merely optimistic to see an upset there.

This is assuming Lin can play this well consistently. Shump looked pretty good for a while until he cooled off. I think there's a reason Lin didn't play much in GS and was cut twice before coming here as the last guard to get any minutes. But maybe he can play well until baron is ready and can be a nice backup.
