I dont know what happened when we got Melo last year but fields went into the shtter and did not reappear until the last 15 games. But he is better than what his stats are. One of the devastating points of the melo trade was the Fields mystery. We made a good player play poor. We traded a player who is basically on par with Gallo--CA and gacve up every thing else we had and we also nearly lost the value of Fields. But I believe Fields is a much better player than he is showing and should be given a stronger role within the team. he can score 15-16 every night at 50% or close to it rebound and pass. hes a team player and a good one.

He had to adjust to new teammates and a new roster. That's what happened. It's why we can't change the roster every 5 minutes. Everytime we do, those that are left have to start over again.

I like the way he is playing. His confidnece and swagger is back. His shot is dropping. He's playing d. Just hope this is not just a run, but a year long thing. Love this guy.

I just hope that people will like me

He will look even better when BD returns and he no longer is the 3rd option on offense. Then he can really be the glue guy

I thought he was done for, but he's surprised me by returning to form these last few games- I'm glad he's back. I am wondering whether he'll play like this for the rest of the season, or whether he's going to go through long bouts where he loses his confidence throughout his career. I suppose it boils down to do you think he'll be a keeper or should we trade him while his value has been replenished?

"We traded a player who is basically on par with Gallo--CA "

... right

But yeah, Fields looks great all of a sudden and for no real reason. If only he could perfect that corner three

he had a fake-pass take to the basket for a lay-up last night that made me drop my jaw

he loooks faster on his penetrations. he always looks for Amare in their screen and rolls.

I'm starting to love the kid. Very smart player and a deserving starter when he plays like this.

Fields is a good, but young and inexperienced player whose role changed drastically midseason. it's not like he's been a SG his whole life. I don't think what's happened should be a surprise considering tha the learned a new position with the parameters changing drastically over night.

I actually like vintage fields(of last couple weeks) better than Gallo. He's more versatile, can create for others, rebound, and doesn't need the ball. Vintage Fields is more consistent, where as, Gallo will put up 30 one night, then put up 1 for 10 the next.

I never wavered from Fields but was starting to really wonder. It's great seeing him playing well again. If we get JR Smith I do hope Fields keeps starting and Smith comes off the bench because another change is not what Fields needs right now.

I love having heady players on the team. That is why it hurt seeing Gallo go. Enter Melo, lots of talent, but the head part? Ok, he showed more last night, but let's see it on a regular basis.

Looking forward to the next few weeks and Fields. As he plays better so does the team and this goes back to last year.

I agree I wouldn't mess with Fields again. bring shump/lin off the bench as back PG and JR as back up SG. We need depth and scoring from the bench. Davis melo & Amare gives us enough scoring in the starting lineup. If we strike out on JR. I would make Lin back up PG and Shump backup SG

Gallo is not as good or as consistent as Melo... but to compare him to Fields? no. Gallo is miles ahead of Fields.

Look at their game logs. Gallo is much more consistent than Melo. Count the number of times each one kills their team with bad shooting nights.

you can't count the handful of games Melo played injured. you can only criticize him for not shutting it down earlier and hurting the team by continuing to shoot with a bad wrisk

Over the last two weeks Fields as averaged 13.5 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.8 spg, 55.6% FG. Without that anomaly against Houston it's closer to 15/4/4/2. That is EXCELLENT all-around production for a role player.

I wish that I were more of a joke than the Knicks team. The real joke is the 22-32 post-trade Knicks team.

Actually, he DOES suck.
He's just on a hot and lucky streak.
He's an 8th man at best on a championship team.

We should limit Lin's minutes because it hurts poor Landry's numbers (+/-) -13 tonight
