Got this from another forum. Makes sense since it was reported Orlando wanted Andrew Bynum AND Pau Gasol for Dwight Howard. I'm assuming they'd want both Amare and Chandler.

IF this is real then you do this deal yesterday. We'd have cap space to sign Kenyon Martin and possible JR Smith.

Yup. With this deal, there is no role confusion. Dwight mans the post on both offense and defense. Makes more sense to keep Melo after this unless you want to trade him for Deron and hope Shump becomes a real good scorer. Maybe we'd be able to resign Felton with this trade?

I just dont know if the magic would do this. I mean Amare and Chandler make a lot of money and have injury issues

If we don't have to include Iman

and if we

we get back Turkeglu

and not

Q, and Duhon

its something we probably should do with no hesitation

Chandler is the only one I would hate to see go, but for Dwight, its a no brainer.

If all of the above is true, which I somewhat suspect, it would be a good move for New York

and would probably be the end of Dantoni and a big offer for Phil Jackson to return...

They can have Amare and anybody not named Tyson and Melo. But not Amare and Tyson at least not for DH and Hedo. If Reddick or a PG comes back then we can make that deal. But I really don't want Turkey on this team.

I am pretty sure Turkeyglue would be a requirement in any deal with Orlando.

I wouldn't even entertain taking back Hedo if I were Grunwald. I'd do

Chandler and Amare
for
Howard, Davis, and Reddick/Richardson

Otherwise kick rocks. I realized we'd still be capped out so might as well get a serviceable PF and SG.

Howard
Davis
Melo
Richardson/Reddick
Davis

Not bad at all.

pretty sure the Knicks are not in the driver seat in this potential trade swap

We can still do a sign and trade over the summer. I'd be in no rush to make a sweet heart deal for Orlando. We already have our stars. Orlando is under the gun to make a deal not us.

If they are inquiring then they have interest. Let's not assume we have no leverage before we are even at the table.

I'd do it too. Stat is from the area and the Magic could produce their own version of "I'm coming home". The only way I'd be against it is if we had to take some bad deals (which we couldn't write off the books) which would hurt the Knicks ability to surround Howard and Melo with the right players.

I was seeing if there was anything to the story and I found this clip from a couple of few weeks ago. Maybe the negotiations have been ongoing...

I agree, its funny how people here still think we have leverage if its really Tyson and Amare.
I really like Iman, I hope he is here to stay as he is potentially the #1 player with the most steals this year.
Its not he only just steals ball neither, he plays good defense to go with it.
Rubio is actually # 1 with steals right now, Iman is 8 steals away from him, lets not forget about the 4 missed games.
Steals doesn't necessarily mean defense, but Iman does both really well, especially for a "rook".

If we had to give up Iman, I am not sure how I would feel about this trade.
As for Turkeglu, he is still a decent player, he can play that POINT/Forward role, that we actually really need.
I can't find a single article to any truth of this though.

And I have trouble believing Tyson Chandler + Amare can land us Dwight Howard and Turkeglu, with the way Amare and the way the Knicks are currently playing.
If Orlando is the one inquiring us for a trade, it would make more sense for them to ask for Tyson Chandler, Melo, Iman, and Jorts.
Not saying we should or would do that trade, but to start of High, and see what they can get from us.
It would make more sense if that is what the Knicks offered Orlando or if Orlando was using us to gain leverage on Lakers, to get Bynum + Gasol.
Ryan Anderson is also going to be a restricted FA, with Orlando having a salary of $85million next year, with a QO of $3.2 million
Tyson Chandler + Stat and Dwight Howard + Turkoglu leaves saves about $3-4million with

Q + Duhon having 3 years each with Q starting at $2.5 and Duhon at $3.5, I do not see Orlando, not trying to unload at least one, possibly both to us,
and asking for possibly Iman, Jorts, or/and Fields
We can't even trade Tyson Chandler now till near deadline, so, the value of Amare/Tyson, can continue to fluctuate till then.

Tyson Chandler

This year contract $13,107,838

$13,604,188

$14,100,538

$14,596,888
----------------------------------------------------

Amare Stoudemire

This year contract $18,217,705

$19,948,799

$21,679,893

$23,410,988

====================================================

Dwight Howard

This year's contract $17,885,400

$19,261,200

----------------------------------------------------

Hidayet Turkoglu

This years contract $10,600,000

$11,400,000

$12,200,000

I don't believe anyone is dumb enough to take on Amare's contract at this point (other than Dolan)

Don't know why people are still in dreamland about him.

I still have a ton of faith in this core. That being said dwight is a special player. Stat and chandler for howard and turk makes a lot of sense for both teams. We would probably bring back duhon too.
