I kinda agree. I live and die in every game like most fans here, but you still have to realize we are far from a finished product. This is Stoudemire's second season in NY. We still haven't had a ful season of Melo. Tyson Chandler just got here. The rest, mostly, either just arrived or have suffered from the heavy player shuffle. Shump and Jorts are rookies. Baron hasn't even made his debut! All in a shortened season with no real time for practice and a team that is still learning the playbook.
Guys, lets try to be fair. Please.
The Knicks have shown their potential to be a contending team in some nights. They have missed key players because of injuries, and take into account that most active roster is significant in a short season. If you thought we were going to storm the league from the get go, you just got your hopes to high, and that's your problem. The fact is the Knicks will probably come close to their potential, if they get healthy and stay that way, at the end of the season.
If you can't handle the bumps now when we actually have an exciting and promising roster, you can just tune out. But it seems like we are always on the brink: one night we beat the Sixers and can win a championship, the next we lose to the Grizzlies and we have to trade Amar'e. No more trades. That is exactly what this team needs:
Time
Let them get healthy. Give Mike D his final chance to prove his worth. If he fails, he will surely be fired, so he should get his last chance. This team, healthy, is nowhere close to what it showed tonight. But the path to such stability is long and bumpy. In for the ride? Then take the hits like a man, I mean, fan!
