This is my list, strictly my opinions of the league. To me, to be considered on the top of the list...
1) You MUST be capable of being great on both ends of the court.
2) those guys have bodies, athleticism, and physical talents that CANNOT be taught.
3) Absolute STUDs, you would start a franchise with, if you had the 1st pick to rebuild TODAY, for the future of the franchise.
4) These guys have NBA bodies that would be considered FREAKISH, with chances of injuries being greatly lowered, considered DOMINANT, work ethic
Carmelo is a great player, but he is not the same league as Lebron or Wade. I believe he is however, in a league greater than Amare. His defense isn't as bad as Amare's, he will have problem guarding shooters, as we saw with Gay yesterday. We need to stop playing ISO basketball on a consistent basis. I think we relied on playing this style of ISO, even when Melo went out yesterday. Last year when Melo went out, we stepped up with some ball movement and TD stepped it up with Shawne Williams and Turiaf. When Amare went out this year, we played back with great ball movement, however, Kings and Thunder are completely different levels. Regardless, I think we have to make use of what we have and try to use what we have.
Ball movement, movement without the ball, picks, back screens, and GOOD SHOTS. We officially don't have a single post option, which would help good 3point shots. We do not have the shooters and ball movement we had last year, to spread the floor. We can not take 3pointers, when we do not have the looks, and it will be tough. We can not just chuck 3point shots, that is not SSOL, Our defense will have to step it up as Durant, WestBrook, and Harden will give us trouble with the athleticism of Ibaka.
