D'Antoni played 8 guys.

The guy will never get it. He always does this and always tires out the team by the end of the season. His short rotations in this shortened season are death.

Yeah and the team played great team D. Best I've seen them play in a long time.

That has nothing to do with what I said.

I wouldn't have a problem with extended minutes for key players in big games *if* minutes were reduced against lesser opponents. But that really hasn't been the case. You would think that Novak and Jordan would get time, and Lin would too if Bibby isn't playing.

They have to make up some wins and so they've extended minutes in a couple of games early in the season. They aren't even practicing so it's not that big of a deal just now. He knows he's getting Jared back and that in a few weeks Baron will be here. I'm positive that they are monitoring this situation right now.

The easiest way for him to limit minutes is for the teams key rotation guys to get the job done early. In games like the Philly game it makes his job harder cuz they let them back in the game. You can't play today's game for the next one. You win the game you're playing then worry about the next game. He can't afford to lose games just to make sure to limit minutes. There will be plenty of time for that in a few weeks. They may be able to rest some in this next game.

Pringles, in prior seasons, has shown a willingness to play his starters well after the game has been decided.

In a year like this, I think being healthy in the playoffs is all that matters. If the starters plays minutes in the mid-30s against Memphis, I would think that to be a concerning trend

We're into one of the harder stretches of our schedule. MDA will give guys breathers against scrub teams.

After losing to Charlotte and Toronto we have seen how bad our bench is. TD gets limited minutes because of his condition our bench players have not stepped up.

I think this is why we go into iso offense as Melo is a star and can do it most nites.

Baron, and JJ take us 10 deep.

Bibby must be hurt because he has been effective hitting his shots.

We really need a "N-game winning streak - what can we complain about?" thread.

I'm sure the stellar performers on our bench would have pushed the lead to 20. Here's the lineup of DNP-CD I would like to see used to close out these games:

C- Jerome "Do Not Hurt Tyson in Practice, Do Not Hurt Tyson in Practice..." Whatshisname
PF - Renaldo "When Am I Getting Traded for a 2nd Round Draft Pick?" Balkman
SF - Steve "God I love 10 Day Contracts" NoWhereVak
SG - Mike "Stop touching me, Josh" Bibby
PG - Jeremy "I love the level of stimulating conversation on the bench" Lin

Couldn't you just see anyone of the last three, or maybe all three of them together, trying to keep the Iguana from scoring 50?

your right. Playing your best against the team leading your division? TERRIBLE. He should have ran Novak and Balkman out there. Nobody broke 38 minutes and Amare/Melo/Chandler all played less than Phili's best 3 players.

This is what you have?

This is what you want to start a thread about?

Knicks win 4 straight, just beat the team leading their division and are playing best defense since Ewing was here and this is what you post.

Let me just say that as a Knick fan you suck.

Have a nice day

I am a big MDA critic at this point, but I'm not sure the minutes last night were that bad.

Jorts hit some big shots, TD started to regain some form, and Walker hit some shots.

The only guys with minutes that were worrisome were Stat & Shumpert.

Maybe Bibby is hurt, but Balkman should see time every game, not major minutes - but sometimes he can impact the game with his energy.

But, he does have knucklehead as a disease.

I have never liked Dantoni but the team is playing well right now and should get better. The defense is better than we have seen in a long while. If the team continues like this, I will be happy to give Dantoni lots of credit. I just want the Knicks to win, only criticized the coach because I thought he was doing a Shitty job. Right now it looks like he is doing a better job. Proof is in the pudding: team is winning games while they still try to figure things out. Gotta give credit when its due, criticism as well.

OP comes off as searching for something bad to say at all costs. I agree with fishmike's comment.

He played 8 guys, but he doesn't really have much of a choice. We only have 8 players who are good enough to be on the court. When Davis and Jeffries get healthy, i'm sure he will play 9-10 guys per game.

C Chandler 32 mpg
PF Stoudemire 36 mpg
SF Anthony 36 mpg
SG Shumpert 32 mpg
PG Davis 28 mpg
6th Douglas 20 mpg
7th Fields 20 mpg
8th Jeffries 14 mpg
9th Harrellson 14 mpg
10th Walker 8 mpg

We will probably see something along the lines of this.

The philly game was important, so I have no problem with the minutes.

Hopefully, once Jeffries gets back, Jorts continues to improve, and Baron gets here, MDA will be able to keep his starters to around 33 minutes.

Dantoni gives the players what they want and that's a good run....in Phoenix he played a 8 man rotation but every guy was playing starters minutes...your best players are supposed to play 35 mins a game. You rest guys when you can but this isn't football where you play once a week....or baseball where you play so many games no one will notice you taking a 5 day vacation midway into the season.

No team is gonna win with their star players playing 25 mins a game. No star player will be happy playing 25 mins a game either

We will probably see something along the lines of this.

I'll buy that, with a very slight tweak: Ideally, I'd reduce Chandler, Stoudemire and Shumpert by two minutes each, and up Harrelson and some combination of TD, Fields and Walker. I have to admit, keeping the guys fresh for the playoffs is the key this year.

2 definite rotation players out with injury in JJ and Davis. Playing division rival that is a benchmark test game. Previous home losses against bad teams. Bibby also probably hurt.

hates Hollinger.

is this hard to add up?

What's the deal with Bibby? Anyone heard? I was SCREAMING for him at one point when we were suffering with TD at the point, though I pretty much knew he had to be hurt.
