This is a Knicks fan website, so our options are Shumpert, Shumpert without the knee brace and Jorts.

I was somewhat surprised at the shooting ability of Brandon Knight. I like what i've seen from Marshon Brooks. He is gonna be a good player. In the end tho, I think Shump contributes to the wins of his team in a more impactful way, so as my Sig has said from the start, i'm pullin for Iman.

Almost forgot Rubio, who I really like.

If Iman keeps starting and winning he's gonna get the nod IMO, due to his defense. Right now i'd say Rubio, but that could change.

it's too early in the season to call it pointless (and nominate a ROY lock)?

if Kemba Walker's minutes go up, I think the vote will go between him and Rubio

"right now"

It can be revisited if someone starts competing.

I think you underestimate the attention Iman is gonna get being the starting PG for the Knicks. We're gonna have a lot of National TV games and with that spotlight and wins it could raise his profile a lot.

Rubio today:

13 points, 14 assists 6 rebounds

when Shump starts having games like that, first, I will be esctatic second we can put him in the mix

he did, against that same team: 10 points, 7 assits, 5 steals.

Nice game but not exactly the same numbers. Shumbert at least plays much better D than rubio.

and by year's end he'll also be on a much more winning team. We shall see how it goes.

That's a great game. I will add that Minny is 3-5 and that big game was against the Wiz. If he does that all the time then he'll be a lock. If his team isn't winning that will effect how his game is viewed verses Iman if he can contribute to his team winning.

2011-12 Statistics

Rubio Games 8 PPG 9.9 RPG 3.90 APG 7.6 STL 1.1 EFF + 14.88
Iman Games 4 PPG 12.5 RPG 3.50 APG 3.5 STL 2.0 EFF + 13.25

I predict that it will be a lot closer as they play more games.

don't sleep on rubio's defense. he's actually pretty good at position defense, albeit obviously not as physical as iman. rubio held wall to 10pts 6asts today. rubio was really good at finding wall in transition and sealing him out of the lane. wall had 22pts 9asts against the knicks.

look, i want iman to succeed and think he's a great young player, but he can't be rated higher than 3rd or 4th in ROY voting right now, behind rubio and kyrie. derrick williams, brandon knight and kemba have all been good, too.

also, rubio is going to enter the starting lineup at some point and his numbers will surely go up. think he is starting minnie's next game as ridnour has some minor injury. my guess is rubio never leaves the starting lineup again.

Not to many PG's catching Alley's as well as throwing them on the the National TV scene like Iman is gonna get. The Buzz about the Knicks is gonna be huge once they start to gel and win games. I think we're underestimating the media coverage that is gonna ensue when the season is in full swing with no Football. Knicks have way more National games than the losing teams will.
