Anybody check him out in his debut, he looked quite impressive. Had a good night and definetly had a buzz about him. 6pts 6asst 0turnovers. He didn't start but didn't have any hesitation to his game.

They still owe us for the A. Randolph gift. His 3 minutes after how many years in the league, made a difference. I have always liked Rubio.

But seriously, a real PG on this team would be INCREDIBLE.

Just saw the highlights, Rubio is sick! He has illnesses!

He's the next Kidd/Maravich/Nash, all combined into one awesome, sick man.

I can definitely see the comparisons, especially with Mavarich. He resembles Mavarich with the bangs and floppy hair.

after the Gold Medal game, Kobe Bryant was asked about the next generatio of stars. He singled Rubio out by name and called him a stud. That carries a lot of weight in my book

Watched the first half of the Wolves game. Those no look bounce passes were sick and Rubio was playing under control. His game offensively reminds me of Mark Jackson's, in his rookie year. Both great no look passers.

As the announcer for the game pointed out, the NBA game isn't too fast for him.

One day, people will stop the comparisons and put a hault on declaring a player as the nextcoming Player X... and those people will end up being a lot more satisfied in their lives.

Rubio is a fun player to watch but ease it on the Maravich/Nash/Kidd/Magic stuff. He played 1 game. I say that and I think he'll be good... but come on.

I was high on Randolph but its amazing that he already looks like he's in the doghouse. James Harden went coast to coast and Randolph looked in the other direction and let him go right past him, he was quickly pulled off the floor. He had one good cut to the rim where Rubio made a hell of a pass but other than that it looked like the Randolph that drove people crazy in NY. He has a ton of potential but his maturity issues might do him in.

I want to throw an invisible rock at the heads of people who were outraged at MDA for not playing Randolph much last season. It's extremely unfortunate but the man has been a complete dissapointment and even bust so far. The guys mental lapses cost him the concentration on defense (Which is where he has the physical potential to be so deadly) and the intelligence to play with the team on offense.

The guy has the tools to be an all star and has done nothing.

It's a part of sports. You honor the past and exalt the present by making these comparisons. It's about continuity, passing the torch.

Of course no player can be anything other than himself. We do this because it's part of what sport fanaticism is all about.

I wanted him to get some minutes early in the season because that squad needed all the help they could get. Randolph was putting up sick numbers in short stretches but like you said, too many mental lapses as well.

Unfortunately Randolph didn't make a case for himself, too immature. I'm sure he will still have a break out game now and then, especially with Barea and Rubio at the point, but I don't see Randolph playing up to his potential.

Rubio has the Marovich "look" but the kid can't shoot like he could.

What made Pete special was he could light it up and could pass. Very special player.

Rubio is closer to Kidd now but lets go a few years and see how it pans out.

Good for Small Market Minny to have a player of interest.

As far as Randolph, it might be clear he does not possess some essential elements to play at the NBA level.

Adelman is a mature coach (like MDA) and has a decent team around him.

The Pick the Hornets now own, might not be so valuable. On paper, they are not awful.

If only "Paper" can play the game!

Maybe there were two or three stretches in which he played exceptional, that were short lived, but overall, I saw him jacking up bad shots and falling asleep on defense. Then he was thrown to the bench b/c of this and when he got some more minutes, before the trade, he played overly tentative.

Randolph strikes me as a guy who desperately needed the four years of LSU basketball because if he stayed, I bet we would have been talking about a different player. It's players like Randolph that make me want the NBA to increase the age limit.

Instead, Randolph is a guy who just doesn't know how to play.

The T-Wolves are an interesting group. They certainly have the pieces to surprise many teams in the league. Aldeman brings the experience they desperately needed. But as their first game showed, they still lack experience to complete comebacks and close the door. Rubio is certainly intriguing. Too bad Barea chose the money over the chance to win again, because right now he would look great in orange and blue and would be starting.

Rubio has a long way to go.

Dude needs to pattern his game after Rondo and hope Minnestoa resigns Love and Beasley otherwise this guy will look terrible.

Of course he has a long way to go, he is a rookie.

But the passes he was making are not made by regular men. He is exceptional.
