From Tommy Dee..

A source with knowledge of the situation has told me the Kobe Bryant is furious with Lakers ownership and has talked about a trade. I can’t say it’s a demand, but I can say that Kobe is highly pissed with the direction of the franchise and wants to explore trade options.

Kobe has a massive contract and a deal isn’t easy, but word is he wants to head east with the Brooklyn in mind.

Stat tuned…

Kobe's been in LA for 16 years. I don't doubt he's pissed at management, but I would be amazed if he ever leaves by his own means.

And hypothetically if anything came of it...I'd be less scared of NJ after a Kobe trade (and the ransom LA would demand) than I would if they get Dwight.

I wish I could find the thread, but I predicted this last year.

Nalod never says this, but this time I must. It makes perfect sense. Nets need need this.

Sure I do, seeing as he's been wrong on every rumor he's ever reported.

Envisioning a Kobe, Deron, Dwight nucleus is what makes me groan. Seems far-fetched though.

Kobe, who's no youngster- and the torn ligaments in his shooting hand can talk the talk, but I seriously doubt that he's going to the Nyets.

Then again, if the Nets don't get Dwight - and they probably won't IMO- they just might be that desperate.

Kobe Bryant has torn ligament in right wrist, is day-to-day
December 21, 2011 | 12:53 pm

Lakers guard Kobe Bryant sustained a torn lunotriquetral ligament in his right wrist in Monday's exhibition against the Clippers. His status is considered day-to-day.

He will not play in Wednesday's exhibition game against the Clippers, according to the Lakers. An MRI exam revealed the injury.

Bryant had 22 points, making 12 of 15 free-throw attempts in the Lakers' 114-95 loss. He practiced Tuesday with the team and did not reveal any major discomfort to reporters afterward but went for an MRI exam Wednesday.

The lunotriquetral ligament stabilizes two of the smaller wrist bones on the outside part of the wrist. It was unclear if it was a complete or partial tear.

"If it's a complete tear, it's more problematic," said Keith Feder, a Manhattan Beach sports medicine specialist. "Without being privy to the MRI, these types of injuries can take anywhere from several days to several weeks to heal completely, but depending on the pain level and with support, the athlete could play."

Bryant will probably need to have the wrist taped when he plays. The Lakers begin the regular season Sunday against Chicago at Staples Center, part of a back-to-back-to-back situation that also includes a Dec. 26 game at Sacramento and a Dec. 27 home game against Utah.

Bryant, 33, is in his 16th NBA season. He had a minor but innovative procedure on his ailing right knee last June in Germany and said it felt healthy after Monday's game, the first time he had tested the knee in a game-like condition.

Update: Bryant was wearing a plastic brace around his right wrist at the team's training facility Wednesday afternoon.

I rather face Kobe 4x than Dwight combined with Deron.
If Kobe can't do it with Pau and Bynum, he won't do it alone.
His best where he was scoring 50+ points was for a losing season.
That was the same year/summer they were in the lottery to pick Bynum's with their 10th pick.
They still needed Gasol in his prime to get them over the hump.
Although Bynum never really produced in both the season and or playoffs together due to injuries.
If a team is willing to give the farm for Kobe, with the salary he makes, at this point of his career, they will be very limited on moves.
Unless Kobe is willing to restructure his deal to make less money, which is highly unlikely, especially with Miss Kobe getting 50% of his entire empire.

DHoward deal looks deader than ECurry's career. No one's buying your main chip Lopez as anything but a really rich but mentally poor Bolshevik's Kevin Love and said owner is now busy with other trivialities like attempting a merger/acquisition of his own country.

I would imagine even a self-centered, insulated manic like Kobe most know leaving LaLaland for the seething cauldron of undying hate that exists on the east coast is not exactly the way to end your HOF career.

Unless of course Mr. Gorbachev can present the NYC Mayor's office to Kobe upon retirement.

When Tommy posted here and asked what he could do to generate more traffic, I recommended that he actually create some content. Either opinion or report or get his own sources. I don't think he's done either. His "best" work is when he posts someone else's article.

His blog is the only blog that I will not read off the uk.com front page. His news has been broken elsewhere and his "nostalgia" rants are poor

this is the problem with sports "journalism" these days, period. For example:

According to sources, Tommy Dee has no sources.

or

According to sources, Kobe Bryant has asked to be traded.

"Kobe Bryant has asked to be traded," according to a team official that has requested anonymity. "He has been frustrated since the Lamar Odom trade."

I love it. Kobe and Deron on the Nets would be great. Hopefully they keep Lopez. I will enjoy watching our guys dunk on him like I enjoyed watching Shawn Bradley get posterized all the time. A real rivaly is a good thing

Except that Kevin Love can rebound. Lopez is most similar to Eddy Curry, if Curry could ever get in shape.
