It's clear Grunwald, the former Raptors GM, is running the day-to-day operations now and it's something he hopes to continue.

"I love working in the NBA and working for the Knicks," Grunwald said. "This is the job that Mr. Dolan's asked me to do for now. If he asked me to do something different in the future, I'm sure I'll do whatever I can, as best I can, to help move the organization forward."

Glen,
Thanks for a tremendous free agency period and for thinking outside of the box.
Signed,

It's a bit too soon- he has only made 1 transaction to date (albeit one that will hopefully be a great one), he also failed to recruit any free agent we targetted (although he didn't have much to offer them). Fooling around with Crawford cost us Shawne Williams (Shawne basically hinted in his interview that the Knicks took to long to offer the $2.5mil, then the Nets came in at the last minute and offered slightly more)- hopefully he's learnt that every FA pretends they're interested in NY to drive up their price, so he won't get fooled again.

I'll wait a season or two before I judge him (remember most of us were delighted at IT early on- especially after that Marbury trade!)

If he signs Baron Davis I think he would have proven to be as effect a GM as any other option out there.

It would be madness not to give Grunwald the job at this point!!!
What a great offseason for us!

Glen Grunwald is the effin' Man, man!!!

Giving props where they are due. He built on the foundation that Walsh set for this team, and look at us now...

GO KNICKS! This is going to be Our Year! Grunwald for Exec of the Year!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I think we all need to send a big TY card to Amare as well....if he doesn't sign last year, none of the rest of this happens!

And Donnie Walsh as well.

agreed on both accounts... but the majority of this fanbase would prefer to trade Amar'e for whatever and attribute Donnie's patience for whoever spends his capspace. Pardon my French but it is a ****ing joke

At the end of last season we were almost at Miami's level, talent-wise. They had Bosh, big deal. We have more talent now than they do, arguably. We might be looking at exec of the year, depending on how things go. It does feel nice to be a preferred destination for FA's tho. Thank you.

I couldn't be more impressed with Grunwald so far. Between Iman, Chandler and Baron; the moves he's made has made the rest of the league look a step slow. When's the last time you could say that about the Knicks front office?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I remember reading that Iman was Donnie's last move for us.

Actually it was Mike's decision to take Iman over Singleton. Donnie left it up to him in the war room. Mike wanted Iman and they agreed that he'd be more useful than another SF/PF for this team.

Too soon for Grunwald but so far so good. Walsh was the best GM we've had in like a decade.

I am pretty sure Vucevic was Donnie's first choice.
He could not have predicted that amnesty was an option, especially landing Tyson Chandler.
For it to come up down to the end, tells me their first options were not available or they didn't think Iman was going to fall to them.
From majority of the mock drafts, Iman was going anywhere from where we drafted to late/early 2nd round.
I wonder if it was a blessing is disguise at the time we drafted him.
He worked hard during the summer, from after college and all the way till the lockout ended.
I am very happy the way things ended out. Adding a center of Chandler's caliber, drafting Iman, and now adding B_Diddy.
Even adding Bibby, he looks like he is a nice player to have on our rotation.

Ditto. But Grinwald is no slouch.

D'Antoni deserves a lot of credit too.

What players did he bring in? I don't think he had dual GM/coach duties?

There were a bunch of clunker moves in there with Walsh's good moves. Grunwald will have his chances to mess up, but he's been flawless so far.

yea i was pretty devastated after losing Donnie but I actually think Glen is better moving forward. Donnie did a great job as far as getting under the cap as I had begged the Knicks to do for years
